Hi I am a Canadian Citizen, my husband is American, he and  I live in United States. I am about to fill out the application to sponsor him so we can move to Canada. I have a few questions on the application that I am unsure of. Could you please help?
# 1  if I am found ineligible to sponsor .. withdraw my sponsorship  or to proceed with the application? I am not sure what to answer. Could I have help on this please!

Section C # 6 (c)     Do you wish to have application for PR of the person you are sponsoring processed at the Visa Office responsible for this country  Yes or No . I am not sure what this means....

Thanks!

Hi Maple3, there is a good thread on this forum answering your first question but for some reason I can't seem to put a link in here but it was started by MarkGuy and is titled If you are found ineligible to sponsor, indicate whether you want...

If you search for that, it's pretty helpful.  It was done on Jan 17.

1) You want to choose to withdraw the application.  It gives you back any fees paid except for the $75, and you can correct whatever caused it to be rejected, then re-submit.  If you choose to proceed, the applicant will still be evaluated by the visa office, but will automatically be denied, as he does not have a valid sponsor.

2) That section should be not applicable, as your husband is in the US, and will be processed through Buffalo, not another country.  Section C only applies if the applicant is in a different country from their home country, and have been admitted for a year, so they are eligible to be processed at the visa office responsible for that country OR their home country office.

The way I read it, sections 6b and 6c only applied if the person lived in a country other than their country of nationality.  So when we answered it, we ticked "no" to 6b, because it said if the answer to 6b was "no" then you would proceed directly to question 7, without needing to answer 6c.  So we had nothing in answer to 6c after putting "no" to 6b.
