I have couple of questions and would appreciate if someone could answer them.

1) I sent my application to the embassy recently. They sent me an email saying that they received it and gave me a new file number.

Does this mean that they just received it and did't read it yet?

2) I came across to someone's post here. He said that he didn't write the word "PRESENT" in his application and it was returned to him.
I missed this word as well.

Does it mean that they will return mine too? Is there anyone who made the same mistake but didn't get the application back and it was processed?

Thanks

In some forms you have to fill your current address, for example, and you put like "01/05/09 - Present".

The thing is you cannot type present in the form and you have to leave it blank. Someone on the forum said that he missed it and his application was returned.

well, the details which you can not be filled in forms needs to be filled by writing with a black PEN.

You should have filled all blanks......I truly hope your application is through.

Mine reached on July 2 as well. I left all of the boxes blank where you should put "Present", like current address, personal history. I presume a lot of other people left it blank too.

Well... probably it depends on visa officer. Or may be it's just their policy.

Oh, you must have sent you application to Sydney, NS. They don't really care about that. When I sent mine to Sydney I made the same mistake but they transfered my case to the embassy in my country. I actually sent my documents to the embassy already.

Yes I have sent my application for teh first time at Sydney.
So at what stage u left your fields blank. At initial level or while sending documents to local CHC. If at initial level then was that accepted.

If you left them blank while sending to Sydney then I think it will be ok. They shouldn't return it.

CIO Sydney only evaluates the experience or Category 2/3 and thats it. You should be ok with blank dates

R u sure. Thanks a lot for telling me this.
I was also worried about my son's passport. I was not having it ready at that time so I have written "Need to Apply'. Will this work? If I would be approved then while sending documents I would get his Passport first.

guys! on the "date" section if you can't type present, you can handwrite it,even if you don't do that at the first stage it should be ok.
