Recent trend has shown that the waiting time after Medical exam is much shorter, some received PPR within a month after.

People who have done medical in September please keep faith that SOMETHING will happen in October or November. Buffalo is processing way faster now, they are transferring files to many satellite offices as well as a newly open pilot one in Ottawa to reduce processing time for all.

At Buffalo, I believe they trigger security check with CSIS when they open the file for the first time, not until after medical is completed. That is why some people received PPR within weeks after medical.

On the email from Ottawa Case Processing Centre, they have  committed to 10 months processing time, not 13 months as published on CIC website.

All of us will see a positive change from CIC very soon. Rossei was the first one. In my case Medical was requested 4 months after receipt and I know many others who have enjoyed extremely fast processing recently.

Hi TRUONGAN/Guys,
I received an email from Case processing pilot (CPP) Ottawa office that says my file is transfered to this office from Buffalo. This email has AOR, Medical instruction and Medical Forms for myself and my family (yeah it was part of email as well).

I really appreciate if someone could answer my following questions
1. Do you guys recommend any good DMP (Doctors for Medical) in Calgary area?
2. The instruction says I need to carry 2 passport size photographs, nothing mentioned about size of the photos. is it 50mm X 70mm photos as opposed to the one which we send out with PR forms?
3. I will confirm this with the DMP but still wanted to ask, Do I just need to take a printout of "MEDICAL REPORT Section A Client Identification and Summery" page and how about Form IMM5419 which it says will be directly send out to doctor in CD-ROM format.
4. Is that it or am I missing any as part of Medical request process?

thanks a lot for you help and answering my questions. You guys have been really very useful.

Regards,
Canadabie

Hi,

Take printout of all attachments and take it to approved doctor nearby your area. They all know what to do.
Take same pictures which you sent out with your application. nothing much restriction on this part.
Take your passport and state ID (Driving Lic) if you have one with you.

Best of Luck.

Qureshi.

Hello to all Seniors & New members,

Please somebody can give me an advise in my case. My application is almost close to have a PPR. We're done all our medical and all the additional document the requested.
Now last Tuesday I got a mail from CIC requesting my step-daughter to have a medical examination & secure a police clearance. My step-daughter is 21 yrs old and she's in our home country right now. At first during the AINP Nominee process I did not include her on my list of dependent for the reason that we don't know if she's consider as a legal dependent to me. When we submit our application in CIC we included her as a part of the family but not on the list of accompany in Canada.

My questions are:
1. Can I add her on my ongoing application for the list of dependent to accompany in Canada even if she's not on the list of the approved letter from AINP Nominee?
2. If yes, does it affect the processing timeline in our application?

Thank you so much.

Doctor Grunberg is cheapest in Calgary, google her name and make an appointment

2. The instruction says I need to carry 2 passport size photographs, nothing mentioned about size of the photos. is it 50mm X 70mm photos as opposed to the one which we send out with PR forms?

Check with doctor clinic

You need to bring in your Section A

4. Is that it or am I missing any as part of Medical request process?

I just received my GCMS notes by email (the new system superceding CAIPS) and there are some points I dont understand.

- Under Medical, it says 1 but the status shows In progress. I think "1" in CAIPS means passed

- Under Criminality, also code 1 but status is 'in progress'. However, the sub section says RCMP 'no reportable trace'

- Under Security, says 1 status says 'not started' - Does that mean CSIS report IS NOT REQUIRED?

The GCMS is 20 pages in length but the info pretty much duplicated, I dont see Bring Forward Date anywhere. I think CAIPS was more in depth than GCMS. Any expert could help me decode the below?

Fill out this form:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf

If you are in Canada inquiring about your personal case, check the box Privacy Act, it's free. Indicate 'email' as method of correspondence to save time in mail.

Fax the signed form to 613-957-6517.

You will get your GCMS Notes within 4 weeks by email. All new cases are managed under GCMS now, even you request CAIPS they still send you GCMS.

No need to spend money on CAIPS provider websites unless you are outside Canada.

Thank you for the information TRUONGAN. I am in the US. So I guess I can request for it only through a CAIPS provider website.

Thank you for the information TRUONGAN. I am in the US. So I guess I can request for it only through a CAIPS provider website.

Or if you have friend/relative in Canada they can request it for you too.

You just have to fill out this form to appoint them:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5475E.pdf

And this form to pay $5 for Access to Information Act (it's not free if you are outside Canada):
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5667E.pdf

CAIPS service charge you about $50 for the same thing, so it's up to you.

But...

Unless you send another form to CIC to withdraw their representative right, they will remain your rep forever and will be able to access your file anytime they wish.

WARNING: You may not want a stranger or a website owner to have the privilege to access your immigration record!!! If one knows your client ID, they can make change or even withdraw your application for any stupid reason
