How long does it take for GCMS notes ? I applied on first week of July.

Did you send to the general inquiry or the specific one to LA? did you get auto reply before you get their reply?

Did you ever get auto reply after you sent email to immigration office (including buffalo)? If they send us auto reply, it that means they will not reply us back? otherwise, they will check case for us first, and then reply us directly without auto reply?

I did a general enquiry and I got an automated response the same day and automated response is just to confirm that they received our email, It doesn't mean that they are not gonna look into our file. In the automated reply I got from LA it was written that they are not gonna respond back if my file is still in processing time but on the contrary, after few days I got an email stating its in queue for review. Hence ,it confirms that they did look into my file. Don't stress out over this bud,JUST email them and it will help.

I know another person who got the pp back in 11 days from LA after decision made, so yours will be there next week some time. You are so so so nice, so I just searched his timeline for you for your reference

When you then get the answer there where detailed information written to your case.
In ECAS is just basic information.

My file was transferred to Seattle on may 4 2012

It's the same date as mine. Let's see if we will get our PPR at the same time.

I have been waiting 16 months. Since the Buffalo closed I don't even know where my file is right now.

I got my GCMS last week. Funny, the GCMS was generated on 19-June but I only received it last week.

I couldn't find any mention of Ottawa other than Medical results received by Ottawa HMB. As per the GCMS, my file is still in Buffalo.

I see the following under eligibility.

Type: Eligibility EC-QC/PNP
Status: Recommend Passed
Status Update: 05/25/2012
Due Date: 08/29/2012

Security - Not Started
Criminality -Not started
Medical - Passed for me, the status is blank for my spouse.

Does anyone know the difference between Criminality and Security check? Many of the sections appear blank for my spouse. I can only think of privacy law of not to disclose medical results of spouse since I applied for GCMS. Does anyone have a similar experience?

Guys i received my pp back today with the beautiful stamp and my rep actually received it on july 12,2012 buh he didn feel the nedd to let me know!! Oh well, all set now! So it takes about 3 weeks to get it back from LA.

"Good day

You application was transferred to our office in Ottawa (address below). I have verified your application and it is currently in process.  Presently they are conducting background verifications.  We appreciate your patience and an agent will contact you if any more documents are required.

They are conducting background verification. Does that mean they are going to take another year or two to check my background?

The reason why they left you spouse's information blank in your GCMS notes is because you did not submit a consent form to the ATIP-CIC and they wouldnt disclose any information aside from yours.

 Criminality check, as far as I know, is a process by which CIC needs to make sure that you don't have any record of any serious crimes and  offences in the past. That's why they are requiring us to submit police certificate to our home country and other countries that we've been to. But that's just the first stage. As soon as we passed our medical, then they need to do a thorough criminality check but with the help of other agencies such as CSIS,RCMP, etc. This is time consuming as it will take months to do it average is 3 months, including interview, if necessary.  but as soon as you pass criminality check, then they will start security check, meaning CIC will see to it that you are not a threat to Canada's public safety. When you pass security check, that will be the time CIC will issue PPR.
