Thanks a lot dothk..Just one more question.Should i request for the 'Physical Files' or the 'Electronic Files'?

If you choose physical files ... its going to be too long and will not get GCMS in a month! just check e mail and do include a copy of work permit with the request

Hello friends, I am also an April applicant, and had meds done in Dec 2011. e-cas says Application received and "Medical Results have been received". Guess I am in a similar boat as many of you.

Just wondering what exactly happens after they receive the medicals. Does it mean that my application is all complete and is simply awaiting review by a visa officer? Somehow, I feel the process isn't very transparent. Any guesses as to how long it "actually" takes them to process an application?

Nobody know how long. .. it depends on the case, the criminality check the visa officer all three components are variable. You might have a quick VO but the crim check might take longer or vice versa. 15 months is around the mostly you should be hearing something..

Sent a case specific inquiry to Buffalo and got the following reply:

"Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete."

I had ordered GCMS notes a month back and they showed that Criminality check: In Progress

The criminality check has been started since Sep 1, 2011. Any idea how long does it usually take?

I think its just in queue for final review with the visa officer. Nobody knows how long it will take but shall be soon!

If your address is in Canada, send your passport to:

Canadian Consulate General (RFV)
Immigration Regional Program Centre
P.O. Box 660
Fort Erie, Ontario  L2A 6R6
Canada

Please put you passports in an envelope with your file number written prominently on it. Place this envelope in your mailing envelope. Please take great care to reproduce the appropriate mailing address above EXACTLY as written.

NOTE: If your address is in Canada, we strongly recommend that you supply a return envelope for your passports using Canada Post's Xpresspost - National service. Do not send us an Xpresspost - USA envelope.  Your passports will be mailed back to you from Canada using your return envelope.

Provide a self addressed, prepaid 24 x 32 cm Xpresspost - National envelope (nothing smaller) from any Canada Post retail outlet. Make a note of the tracking number.

Your passports will usually be returned to you within 15 business days from the day we receive them. This does not include any time it may take for the Post Office to deliver them

Important information regarding the return of your passports:

Passports will be returned to you by US Postal Service regular mail unless you use one of the premium services described above. WE WILL NOT USE FedEx, UPS, PUROLATOR OR ANY OTHER COURIER COMPANY ENVELOPES - EVEN IF THEY ARE PREPAID BY CREDIT CARD OR ACCOUNT NUMBER.

We will not return passports to addresses outside Canada and the United States.

Passports sent to us by mail cannot be picked up in person.

Our office is not liable for lost or stolen passports.

Thanks. But what really constitutes a criminality check? Haven't we already sent the police certificates? What else do they need to check?

HI guys, I just updated CIC regarding my new address through mail.Earlier it was updated on ecase only.Whats the best way to ask Buffalo if they have sent over an Initial assessment letter which i could have missed for some reason during moving? Is initial assessment letter even  necessary? because i have not received anything as such yet.
Just wondering if the updation on file creates a delay in the process?
