Yeah, said they are closing down buffalo
will this not cause delay in the processing of the documents.. they have to transfer first and if one is down then work load will move to rest of the consulates. |

I think its good news, that they are making changes. Why have to apply outside of the country if your in canada, make sense to me.

Exactly that is the thing I am worried about. Other than that it is a good change that persons wanting to change or extend their status can apply within Canada. But what about those who have PR applications in Buffalo now, what happens to them?? |

The article states that it will be closing sometime next week Thats just great news.. just when I was so close!! Secondly, i think they are not closing down next week but the closure is going to be announced next week! They cant just close the office in 1 week, they have to transfer files and what not and other things also! I really hope this doesnt affect negatively!!!!!!!!!! I think our files are going to be forwarded to the NY Office!! This will take even longer!!! |

When is the office actually closing? I dont think we should be hearing about anymore PPR from Buffalo as the reason is they will not be able to issue any visas so whats the point of getting PPR from them. I think we should be getting transferred to New York office. |

Well, guys, I hope that files that are in Buffalo will be transferred to the other offices. It's so strange that they are closing Buffalo as it is the main office that you send your applications to.
On another note, I landed today at North Portal. It took about 5 1/2 hours to drive there from Saskatoon and the same duration back. And for me the process took about 25 minutes to complete. At least it's all done now.
I never received a call from the office in Saskatoon for an appointment to complete the landing, so to not waste any time, my friend and I drove to North Portal. I think I spent about 10 minutes on US soil before heading back into Canada to complete the procedure.
