One further question - grateful for advice!

I expect to apply for sponsorhip for wife and children from outside Canada. We were married in Canada almost 14 years ago. Lived in Canada for 2.5 years before leaving for UK (wife was spnsored by me and then had PR).

We wish to move back, ideally in the next couple months, definitely before Xmas. Would we be able to move back during the application process (and leave briefly to re-land when approved) or do we have to wait until all processing complete before we can come back?

Uncertain whether it is better to try and get citizenship for children rather than sponsorship and permanent residency in the first instance. At the end of the day, we just want to come back as soon as possible. (Given that we have a house to sell, understanding the potential timing is pretty important (as we expect to have offers inside of 4 weeks, and exchange/complete contract of sale within 10-12 weeks).

Thanks,
JT

See my reply to you here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/do-sponsorships-expire-when-residency-is-not-kept-up-to-date-t22968.0.html

You don't need to sponsor your wife or your kids.
