Hi,
       What does it  mean when visa office gives a application file number?Does it mean your information is entered in the system?

File number usually means you have a positive review and your file goes for further processing...

Did they send you this by email..? When did you file your application? Post July 2011?

this was dated last july 27,2011

hello guys i'am applying as FSW 3113 my documents received cic-nova scotia last may 10, 2011 until now i did'nt received any reply from them. sadly it nears 4 months already  Sad Sad Sad. I dont know if this application nos they gave me has any weight or it means nothing. hope you can help me to my queries?

I have applied 2/5/2011 in NOC 3112 

Positive acknowledgement mail received on 8/6/2011 and file transfer to Singapore visa office on 5/7/2011
 Now E cas shows   Received by visa office

Sad that it is 4 months without even a PER while other people are getting MR within 3 months! It is just how it works with CIC. Just be patient and it shall all be well. The application number means nothing as everyone gets a number once completeness check has been passed. Getting the PER e-mail means everything..good luck! Mandie
