Hello all,

This is for all the applicants from Malaysia - Join here to share your experience.

I am under the FSW category - applied to CIO Canada in May 2011 (before June 26, 2011 bunch)

Currently I am waiting for a reply from Kualalumpur Visa Office - after my medicals were done in June 2011.

Does anyone know the time taken for Passport request after the medicals and how long do they take to return the same?

Hi Kayal,

I am also applied from KL in May2010, and complete my medical in May'2011 and medical report reached to SG office by 1st June'2011.

my ECS also last line showing " we started processing on your application on May10,2011' after this no update either medical received or anything.

btw i have called for interview as well.

As i read you went directly to KL office, can i try also the same, pls. advice morning what time they are open, as i m planning to visit tomorrow and what doucments we need to bring, complete file.

Hi,

Yes, you can visit them in person - they do respond - but be persistent in knowing the status or some feedback - dont get satisfied with "will email you or post you" replies...

they r open from 8.30 to 3.30 - be the first person, in case you get ur letter in hand for submitting the PP, you can do it the same day itself - so carry enough photos and arrange for the DD quickly after the letter - for the amount as mentioned in the letter. If you are in KL, you can relax n submit whenever you want.

hi,

i went today morning, check with lady sitting on reception, she tried to check my status and advice that is processing, but i insist to know the status, then she called another lady, she came and checked on comptuer and discuss and after this reception lady told me that it is in processing and officer is reviewing the applicaiton, Medical is received already but as of now its processing, i tried to get any timeline, but you couldnt and confims that status/processing is vary case to case and if any thing will update me.

SO bottom line is not everybody is lucky as you and we still need to wait not sure how long

oh dont worry - my case, I did my meds in June and again further tests reports were sent in Sep and went in person in Oct - so I had enough waiting and getting impatient - fortunately, they had reviewed my case by then and it was a coincidence that I went at the right time and got the letter in hand.

May be as they said, your case needs final reviewing and decision making I guess - sometimes, it depends on the Immigration Officer. Are you in KL? I am from Penang - I had to drive twice to KL - good that it dint go waste. Anyways, let us hope that they get back to you by this month. Good luck to you
