Applicants from Iraq (or Middle East), but application being processed in London

Seeing that my situation is taking a VERY long time, I just want to compare it with those who have/had a similar situation.

My husband is from Iraq, and he has an Iraqi passport.  He lived in Iraq the majority of his life.  He studied for almost 6 months in Russia and went back to Iraq.  When he left Iraq he went to Syria and was there for less than a year.  When he left Syria he went to Sweden and has been in Sweden for 3 years now.  He is living in Sweden and is a permanent resident of Sweden.  Therefore, our application is being processed in the London visa office

Now I'm pretty sure that there must be many applicants who are from Iraq or from any Middle Eastern Country who's applications are being processed in London.  What I want to know is how long did it take to finalize your application?  My application has been in process now for almost a year now

I am in a similar situation. Iraqi nationality, Swedish permanent resident for the past 3 yrs, been only in Sweden and Iraq.
They notified my husband by e-mail that he will be needing to attend an interview in Stockholm (We are applying through the London office)

As to the background checks, did your husband originally submit the police certificates from Sweden AND Iraq in the initial application?
