Dear Friends

I couldn' t participate the forum for about 8 months. I received the PR and i went to canada and these days i am back in srilanka to attend my sisters wedding and other personal arrangements. I will be going back in last week of may 2012. I didnt apply for the jobs during my short stay but applied to canadian colleges through ontariocolleges.ca since canadian qualification is very much a plus point there
i am a IT and legal professional here but i hope to continue my carrier as a paralegal there. Till such time i try to find a IT job. If i find a rewarding job i will continue in IT. But thats future !
For me the country is very good govenment is very responsible and people are careing. Very much supportive to the to the children and woman and disabled persons. Forward thinking society respect each other . Multi cultural .
Downside may be the extreme weather .Expect the canadian experience for jobs. Long path to get the licence for professionals etc
But overall i think canada is a very good country

Hi marvik,

I had a similar issue. I sent the Bank DD along with the full docs. However they requested payment again with my medicals. I had ordered CAIPS and in that it showed that the payment was received and it is in the system. So we just explained the same by email, which they acknowledged. In my opinion, you should get your medicals within a month or so. However if you are worried or have any doubts, consider ordering CAIPS.

Anyway all the best for a speedy process, fingers crossed ;-)

Hi Await, but I checked with the bank, and as per the bank money were not taken which means that Colombo VO did not cashed it. We also mentioned that our son's passport will take 60 days or more, maybe it could be the reason that they do not move ahead with our file, waiting for passport.

How long Colombo VO gave you to submit the passport?

Currently I am in abroad & I can't travel immidiately to SL. So trying to understand what is the maximum duration VO gives to submit the passport.

 I have noticed,one of familly class member was given exact date(7 days after the call).Visa was stamped same day and pp had been given.I will inform you if i get the PPR but I have been waiting for 4 months

Good question... In my case the VO called informing to bring along the passports for stamping. They did not specify a timeline. We never got a official letter for PPR. Sorry that I can't be much help, but i'm sure they will understand if you explain your situation. All the best.

Thanks for you wish.I think you have to grab the AEAP when they redy to give.Better if you cold come for SL for a short visit.Anyway as sugested by AWAIT try to get their opinion (VO)

I'm my case it was an email. My advice is go as early as possible or call them and get a confirmation. I will post the content of my mail. It was within 30 days upon receiving the mail.

This letter refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. We are pleased to advise you that your application has been approved and we are ready to issue your visa(s).


YOUR VISA(S) WILL BE VALID UNTIL 13-01-2013. YOU MUST ARRIVE IN CANADA ON OR BEFORE THAT DATE.


Please bring a passport for you and all accompanying family members to the Canadian High Commission on any day from Monday to Thursday between 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon.. You must present the original of this letter.


PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU HAVE 30 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THIS LETTER TO COLLECT THE VISA(S). IF YOU FAILED TO DO SO WITHIN THE TIME INDICATED, YOUR VISA(S) WILL BE CANCELLED.
