hello friends,
my friend who sent his medical reports on feb got his passports back today asking to send renewed passports by jun 30th (Photo was little out along with nomination from the cover page in his passport, so they it is damaged and asked to renew it)

First, pls make sure of sending proper passport when you send; if any of you have similar problem, better get it renewed before you get MR so that you get enough time to apply and get

Second, any idea how long it take to renew passport under damage category? the new system of Seva kenra is good  and pretty fast but i have no idea about timing for passport renewal

Rgds,
Ram

It will take 7-10 days to get a renew passport....this is a very personal experience...recently my cousin had endorse his wife name on passport and new passport was with him in 7-10** days.(** Address should be same as old passport)

Tell your friend to apply for a passport just to change the appearance/signature category coz if he would apply under damage category then he would have to penalty of 1500 INR + Fee and it will take more time and formality required would be more as well!!

trust me that is the best info, even passport ppl will not disclose it to you!!

Some member frm Pakistan has raised a new topic regarding taking vitamin D injections.

Hopefully I have full knowledge on this and would like to just throw sum light on this topic.

Basically there is a "Ozone Hole" over Canada......I don't know which parts of Canada its affects. Due to this ozone hole, its not wise to stay out for prolonged periods under the sun. The sun rays are really harmful as they do not get purified by the ozone layer.

After staying in Toronto for almost three yrs continuosly , wen recently my bro came to India.......there wer frequent cramps in his leg and I could clearly distinguish that the skin on his legs had also gone pale.

After a blood report, it was clear that he had major deficiency of Vitamin D in his blood.....the reason being that he hardly used to roam outside under the sun due to its harmful rays. Vitamin D is produced directly by the body with the help of sun's rays. If u hve vitamin D deficiency just stay under the sun nd it would be cured but its not possible in Canada. The harmful rays causes skin cancer.

NOTE:  1) When you are in Canada, don't forget to take vitamin D shots from the Doc....or carry a prescription from India itself with the help of your family doc.
           2) If there is a need for u to roam outside under the sun, don't forget to use skin cream rich in SPF(sun protection factor) 50.

I don't know how helpful this is for you guys......but don't forget health comes first Wink

Hi Friends,
I would also like to suggest all of you to apply for PPC if you have not send it with your file. So when you get the PPR and PCC request you already have it with you. Some times the PPC can take long time depending upon the Passport officer (if he ask for pre-verification).
Regards
Jassi  ...
May all get there passport stamped soon with the canadian Visa ........

Appreciate Jassi but I have noticed the senior's advised (qurax and kanamen) to some members that don't apply for pcc until you are
requested for it coz it should be update and issued(dated) after the request of Visa Officer!!

Don't worry.......its not  life threatning......but the doc whose treatment my bro took.....advised that it was undetected for a longer time than it could have proved fatal......my bro took sum vitamin D injections nd he felt perfectly ok after that........the only solution is takin vitamin D shots at regular intervals in Canada Smiley

Hey Babbu

I hope we are lucky as we send our apps in CIC & in MI3 after getting PER no one gets rejection due to job responsibility as CIC has taken over that.. More or less if CIO needs any further info ten they will ask you first before rejecting the case.. That is what I know from all the seniors... in MI3

Info is correct & my wife is from medical field too & I confirmed the same.. Have a lot of FISH, EGG & other Vitamin D resources while you are in Canada & scientist cant commit any thing before 2030... so either have injections; capsules or other resources...

TO work in sun rays directly can cause skin cancer too..

So precaution is better than cure..

It is great that this issue has been brought up and you can find lots of information online.  I found the following link was helpful and suggest that people take a few minutes to read about Vit D and CALCIUM.  As Vit D is a fat soluable vitamin, you do not want to exceed the recommended dosage as it can build up in the body (unlike an excess of the water soluable vitamins like C which is flushed out).  You do not need a prescription or shots.  Vitamin D is available in tablets which you can easily buy on the shelves of grocery stores, pharmacies, etc.
