Hi all, Please forgive my ignorance, but can somebody tell me the significance of AOR, besides to acknowledge that your application has been received by the visa office? Like for example, with PER, we know that the CIO has already pre-assessed the number of points that an applicant has (though I agree that the CIO's interpretation may yet still be different than that of the VO's), so by getting AOR, what does it mean besides that they have received the application from the CIO? And I kept hearing this being mentioned as '2nd AOR'? Can somebody tell me the difference between 1st and 2nd AOR? Thanks in advance, and congratulations to all who got their PER's and AOR's  |

The second AOR essentially is a letter from visa office itself implying that they started processing your file. You can start counting down the usual processing time starting from AOR and not PER. The first AOR is the PER itself - the confirmation that you file was received, checked for eligibility and forwarded to the visa office.
