Good luck with your ielts. Mine is at review stage in pretoria. Very few apply to pretoria that r registered in trackitt. Have not seen single case issued with visa in 2 years at pretoria. Think one among very slow processing offices.

Hi Guys,

Very true, things are going very slow at Pretoria. Mine is also in process since more than 4 years. No news so far. Lets keep on sharing our views and news. Good luck.

What a pleasant surprise! I was actually convinced before now that we were the only applicants in S.A.! When did u first apply babutv2000? I applied about 44months ago and it is still "in process"

If your application is in process, you should see if you qualify under the new rules. Perhaps you might get it faster with the new rules.
Good luck.

I send my initial application to CIO.
“Babutv2000” was asked to send a passport.
Any other applicant from Pretoria has news to share.

Hi everyone
We applied under the new rules and CIO recieved our initial appliciation on June 9th 2009.
We received and email on August 12th 2009 that our application has been recommended for further asessment to PTA and that our file was transferred.
Our full application and supporting documens were received at Pretoria on August 19th 2009.
Our medicals are still valid from our WP application, so we dont have to go for that again.
We are still waiting on any further feedback.
Hopefully it will not take to long.
Would be nice to see more applicants from Pta on this site with their timelines.

We applied in June 2008, received a letter requesting the supporting documents in Jan 2009 (to my surprise). Handed that in Apr 2009.  Then in Aug 2009 received confirmation that we've provisionaly been accepted for Canada (yippee) . Medicals must be in before end Sep 2009.

Hello all.

I sent in my application to Pretoria in Jan 2007. Received my AOR after about a month and then some time later i received a letter asking me if i wanted to continue with my application to which i replied yes. I now am thinking of withdrawing my application and going on the new skilled application that takes much less time.
I am a University lecturer that conducts my lectures in English, so i'm quite sure that i'm bound to succeed. The thing here is, that i may lose out on the fees that i paid for the first application. Maybe i can withdraw my application and submit a fresh application at the same time. Good luck guys.

If you withdraw your old application and reapply under new system it must be faster. As your occupation code is already on the qualified occupation list. (Lecturer).
In this forum there are many applicants who withdraw their old applications and applied under new system.
