Is there any reason that led you to believe so? Other than, the idea that politicians would want to show some numbers (admitted PhDs) in Nov 2012?

Cheers,

I just got a confirmation email with my file number. However, it just says:

This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2011/11/09.

I was told (from previous applicants) that cic confirmation email would be something ike this:

"Your application for permanent residency has been received with a positive eligibility review..."

The word "POSITIVE" is crucial for me as it can wave the international tuition fee  Cheesy

Anyone else has received the confirmation email?

@  ejamal: Well, could be! Though, no one knows what's exactly going on behind the scene!

@  masoud2011: so far I knew, the tuition fees difference is waived once someone is landed immigrant. Can you put some reference to your saying that it's waived just after receiving the PER?and what's the process of doing that?

and btw, if you check the following link you would find that the 'application received' and 'eligibility review' are two different stages of the immigration application sent to CIO. So I believe, you would receive the eligibility review result in the next step.

@  JBR and snow_walker: Each university has different set of rules in regard to the tuition fee. You would have to contact your registrar office to figure it out.

I have a quick question for those who have applied.

I am a PhD candidate in ON. I will be completing two years of PhD soon.

Do I need 1 year of minimum work application, because this is a condition for FSW.

Or FSW for PhD stream has no such kind of condition.

Thanks,

I also think that 1 year work experience is a requirement.

And btw, MASOUD2011: what is your ecas status now? "Application received" or "In process"?

@  SNOW_WALKER: BTW, don't you think this is our case: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/redir.do?redir=app_perm_com&lang=en&app=ecas

If this applies to our application, then we won't receive PER!

@ MASOUD2011 The link that you have sent is for sponsorship applications. snow walker's link is the right one, so we should be expecting the PER anytime now.

Also, something strange happened today, the CIC website dropped the cap update dates

Applications received toward the overall cap: 6,774 of 10,000
Applications received toward the overall cap: 37 of 1,000

It's been a while since we got good news from Nov. applicants.

37 has been put there for almost 2 months. Now the update dates were gone. It must be because of the huge number of applicants at present.

Sad I got application returned. My advice to every one is : every letter from school should have "have good academic standing " to ensure the chance of being accpeted.
