Got a mail today saying that they received my application, that I was eligible and that they were transferring my application. Finally! One stage passed but I know it can be refused. I applied last time under CEC and went to the medical exams to see my application getting rejected because I was short on worked hours. I'm thinking it's going to take at least 6 months for the next step
I really hope there is no mistake or miscalculation this time. Lips sealed

Also, do you know if this email is enough to pay for domestic tuition fees instead of international ones?

Thanks and good luck to everybody on this thread Cheesy

Hi, Utopie, congrats! You got a mail not email? Could you share your timeline?

CIO now is pretty slow even for processing payments. No idea why that's happening.

Thanks, I got an email. I sent my application on June 15 (2012), they acknowledged receipt on the 28 (I actually just noticed it today when they gave me my application number) and got the email today (August 2nd). And yes, they have been pretty slow. I hope it won't take too long though.

Thanks for sharing your info. I hope everything will be good.

Do you know when did CIO charge your payment? My app was received by CIO on June 15th but I got no news from them. Sad

So you sent it a little bit before me. I wouldn't worry about it:each case is different hence the processing times as well.
I actually did not pay by credit card but by bank draft and they acknowledged receipt of payment in the email as well. I guess they do it once the preliminary review is complete (between June 28 and August 2nd).
Give it a few weeks and I'm sure you'll get an email from them

Hi Jude_1,

My application was returned yesterday, because the confirmation letter from my University does not bear an official seal on it.
I need to resubmit, which is little annoying.
It seems like Sydney office still work, but it's very slow - so no worries...Smiley
Hope you hear from them soon.

Hi Jhvan604, may I know what you means by confirmation letter from university? Do you mean letter of attestation? Do they require an official seal for that? I'm going to send my application next week too....am so nervous!!

I got my application returned today for not including my birth certificate.

So I just printed it out, included it in the package and resent the application package to CIC with their cover letter.

Congrats to the new PERers!

Guys, Things like this are clear stated in the guides and regulations. Please read them many times before submitting anything. The first 50 pages of this thread has also important information that was discussed between the first applicants. They are worthy perusing with attention.

Is that the Off-campus work permit that permits you to work 20 hours per week or the unlimited open work permit?

From the OP manual:
"The letter of attestation must be an official letter, on university letterhead, signed by an authority at the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies that clearly addresses the above-noted two components."

I don't believe a sealed envelope is required though. Just a signature from an authority.
