Mostly, those cases in Alberta are study permit and work permit. Let's hope this won't happen in Sydney or Ottawa. Plus, how can those staff of CIC do whatever they want to immigration cases?

Everything seems 'dead' around there.
Even the 'total number of applications received' has not been updated since may 29. Fingers still remain crossed though..

My friend has been asked for police certificate and medical last week. He applied last December (if I remember correctly).

Hi PhdApplicant, Hope you are doing well. I just wonder if you heared anything about your appeal from Ottawa ? Do you know if they are granting the 5 adapbtiablity points or not ?

They refused to give me the 5 adaptability points. However, since I also told them that I have a new Canadian relative in Canada recently, they reverted my case to PER. I have been requested medical since then.

Hi AST,
What is the process of applying for OHIP?
Sorry for the delay in reply. The process is very simple. Just visit any service Ontario office and submit the forms. But the problem is related to the eligibility. OHIP officers need to see some hardcopy for the confirmation of PER.

Guys, anyone has any idea about the elementary school fees for our kids when we are on post graduate work permit? Children of student visa holders need not pay the elementary school fees, but how abt PG work permit? Also, do I need to apply for new permits for my family if i apply for PGWP?

Hi AST, I was under the impression that school education from kindergarten to grade 12 is free in canada unless you want to go to a private school?.but i'm not sure if that's only for children born here or for PRs...

Usually, education is free for citizens and PRs. But now, as I am on student permit, every term, I have to submit my full time status to the school board to get the fee waive for my kids. Now wondering what will happen if I take PGWP...

My kids were issued study permits based on my study permit. This allows them for free school education.

Hi there, It is different from province to province, but most of the provinces waive fees for children in K-12 education if at least one parent holds either a Study Permit or a Work Permit.
