Just curious, how different are OHIP and UHIP? Why not just wait till the PR comes to apply for OHIP? I don't know about other universities but in mine we can claim the expense we paid for the UHIP premium.
UHIP is not free.... we have to pay around $700 per year, and as I have a family, I have to pay aroud $3300 per year. OHIP is completely FREE.

Thanks AST! Then, how can we apply for CAIPS (I don't even know what it is!)?

CAIPS is a document issued by CIC which shows each and every action that they have taken on the application. So it includes the PER also. We can also see the points calculation, any other comments that they made etc. But, have to check more about how to apply for CAIPS. If anyone here applied for CAIPS, plz give us your suggestions....

I see. Well in my university the $700 can be reimbursed as long as we're TAs. The premium paid for family members can also be reimbursed. So basically it's free.

Dude, I applied for OHIP with PER email and even appealed my decision to the OHIP review committee. They finally rejected my application due to the reason that  we are not at the PR stage eligible for OHIP so far. Plus they did contact the CIC representative. So I guess that the hard copy may not the key issue.

But it is worth for u to try with CAIPS.

I received the PER email from CIO in May, but no update since then. Not sure whether the application package has been sent to VO or not.
I heard that the Buffalo VO is closed.

Currently I want to update my employment information to them.
Does anyone know how to find out where my application package is? Is it in Ottawa? Any phone number or email?

Besides, do you have the address of the Ottawa VO that I can send the supplement documents?

Thank you all!

Like getting the medical request, that is what the staff at the counter told me.

Because after getting the PER, it is still very likely for applicants to get refused.

If so, is the medical request email from VO Ok to apply for OHIP?

They really need a hard copy of confirmation from CIC, like CAIPS notes.

I sent my application in the end of June(June 26th) and it was received on June 28th.
But I haven't heard anything from Sydney... In addition haven't charged yet.
wondering what they are doing in Sydney..

Hi Jhvan,

I guess we are in the same situation. My application reached Sydney on June 25th. Since then nothing happened.

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I hope all of you get your PR before the end of this year  Grin

My wife is the main applicant.
Our application reached CIO in Sydney on February 28th 2012.
Credit card was charged on March 8th.
PER issued (CIO) on March 22nd.
Current status is "In process".
There are 2 persons in the application.
My wife included both her RA/TA experience and other work experience from our home country.
We chose Buffalo as our visa office.
We are from Iran.

Hi admin,
Please add my information to the spreadsheet.

Thanks!
