Thanks dear~ The new letters are more of supplementary information. I just asked the HR and my supervisor to revise the letters as what they required, so at least I'm quite sure there's no contradiction

The full-time or part-time part is tricky...In my colleague's situation, it seems they count his 2 yr RA as full-time. But he also has a MS degree in Canada though.

In my case, I'm in a fast-track PhD program that bypass master, so unfortunately I can only get 20 points for my education despite that I have 20 years of education:( But my partner got his master in Canada, so at least I should have 5 points for adaptability, and I have 16 points for ILETS.

Make sure though that there would be no contradictory information between the new letters and the ones you sent. I'm assuming that you have copies of all the letters you submitted? Double check everything, and make sure that everything is consistent (and that the additional information would not in any way contradict what you submitted before).

And I'm not sure whether you can count RA/TA as full-time since you're also claiming full-time studies during the period you're claiming you're doing work as well (maybe somebody else can elaborate on this?). But since apparently you have had more than 4 years of RA/TA experience, then, provided everything is clear from the letters you will provide, you should get at least 2 years of working experience from this. Assuming you have the maximum number of points for IELTS, a Master's degree (with 17 years of education), and under 35 years of age, you should have about 68 points, which would be more than the required 67.

No. But in the checklist, there is a item only for Phd session. We all have to check that one.

How bout you jackson2209? Did you also put in a cover letter to indicate your app is for PhD stream?

Hmm... that's true. Like one of the member's input, it could be that my application has lots of documents and I have had in total 6 job experience. That's why its taking so long.

Ha ha, in a way it's good that we now can expect PER only in a couple of weeks. Before, MASOUD2011 and others used to wait 60+ days just to get their credit cards charged Smiley

If your spouse has a Canadian Master's degree, then you would probably be awarded 5 points for (your spouse's) previous study in Canada, and at least 3 points for your spouse's education level (so you will have 20 + 15 (or 17) + 10 + 16 + 8 (or 10) = 69 - 73 points) Smiley Otherwise, with only TA/RA experience (even if they gave you 2 years of full-time experience), 20 points for educations, and without any adaptability points, you would not be likely to have the required 67 points...

hi guys,
I was wondering if you all included your birth certificates with your application. I have only a baptism certificate with me and in my country, it didn't become a law that you should have a birth certificate for issuing a passport till 1990...so we had to only show our 10th grade certificates for the purpose of obtaining a passport!..i'm wondering if they'll deny my application because of this  Huh
thanks!!

Kindly advice on  the wordings of your supervisor's letter. I got a letter from HR that stated i am employed full time as a graduate students and they also added my GAs.
But i need my supervisor or someone to write that my job was RA.
More so, how was your RA/TA experience?

Hi ojohn22, I don't think your HR letters would have job responsibilities, and indeed, we have seen several applicants getting emails for job responsibility clarifications before getting their PERs, so in the end, your supervisor (or department head) still needs to supply this information (regarding responsibilities, number of hours, etc). At least have one letter, where everything that they want (number of hours, salary, responsibilities, department letterhead, etc) is included, and make sure not to provide any contradictory information.

Yes, I believe they check the website regularly. NO AOR so far. I heard that the BF'D for the 2nd AOR in Bufallo is about 8 months to a year after 1st AOR (PER). Let's hope this is not the case for use.

I'm wondering if we should probably start ordering our CAIPS forms, just to have rough idea of the timeline for the BF'D. Is anybody aware if we need to get our AOR's first before ordering CAIPS? I'm starting to get worry now as to whether my corrected forms have safely reached Buffalo, since I sent it based on the application number rather than the file number  Sad

Here is a faster way to order CAIPS - http://www.caipsnotes.com/ . I am not sure, though, how much use this will be before we actually get AORs.
