I called CIC today. They told me that I would have to wait for one more month. I guess they are verifying my work experience. It's kind of complicated because I worked in several countries (Vietnam, US) before coming to Canada.
Is this the reason why we are waiting longer than others? Before coming to Canada I also stayed in another country rather than my home country for study.

Could be a reason. It seems that for applicants with multiple country stay/experience etc., it is taking longer!

Everybody is wrong I am the only applicant. I only have RA/TA exp. I am from India and I have work exp only from Canada : Looks like all of these conditions have been issued PER. And I haven't. By some weird logic those who applied earlier seem to be getting PER late. haha. or I am getting an NER. Now that is not funny!

Then, I go back to my original theory that they select the cute ones first. LOL. Maybe you should create a new column with research field, to see if people from STEM are getting PER faster? One day we may have the perfect algorithm, capable of predicting the future! Today I did something I never imagined doing a few years ago. I changed supervisors!

Congrats!!! Changing supervisor is a challenge especially you have already spent couple of years with your previous boss. Do you need to change research field too? Anyway it's not too bad to you.

I will keep doing what I was doing before, may do some new stuff latter, but he is still in a related area.

Hmm...Firing a supervisor is no longer a privilege of postdocs. Congrats.

I'm really sorry to hear that MappleDream. Do you mind sharing the reasons and the letter? Best course of action is to find whatever is wrong and reapply as soon as you can. I hope we can all help you to fix this ASAP.

MapleDream, I am really sorry to hear that Hopefully the reason for refusal is something that you can fix? They seem to have sped up the process by quite a bit compared to the time you applied back in December, so it may not be a bad idea to reapply, since they can still probably accept around 300 more applicants before November. Also, if you think that they have made a mistake, you can probably try contacting them as suggested by shaon31, who was able to overturn his NER into PER (in less than a week). Let us know how it goes, and please do not give up yet. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-to-deal-with-an-unfair-ner-a-negative-eligibility-review-t67741.0.html

TyrusX, that might be a good idea. I would never give up in finding that 'perfect algorithm' to predict possible causes for delay in immigration processing. Anyway, my research area is scientific computing. And it is hard for me to judge whether changing supervisors is actually a good idea, but if you feel that you can be more productive working with the new supervisor, then I am glad you did so Congratulations!!

Today, I got an email that says my application has received a positive final determination of eligibility for processing, and is sent to Visa office. 16 days after receiving application by CIO.

Holy crap!!! Congratulations !!! It took them 18 days to charge my credit card, and 50+ days for some of the earlier applicants!!! Hopefully the rest of the process will be much faster too
