This will only apply to people that apply under FSW1 (and I suppose, though, that if you're a driller or a crane operator, you'd probably be fine), right? I think both FSW2 and FSW3 would not be affected (the former not having a cap, and the latter is still only like 35 % filled).

I don't know about FSW2, but for FSW1, even if the cap for your profession is not reached, they will no accept more than 10000 applications overall. Luckily, that is not the case for FSW3.  MI-4 states:

Quote
A maximum of 1,000 new FSW applications from international students pursuing PhD studies or recently who obtained a PhD at a Canadian institution will be considered for processing each year. This cap will be calculated over and above any other FSW caps on application intake identified in previous Instructions.

I imagine people will get discouraged by reading that, since is not clear that it do not affect us.

Also, I have a "presentiment" that they will reduce the cap to 500 applications next year

Why? I don't think so. They need at least two years to find that how the PhD immigrates accomodate to Canada and whether they contribute to this country. Next year, they probably keep the same policy.

Because in 2009 they opened immigration for international students too. And removed them in the following year.

edwin83, that was fast Cheesy Congratulations!!! Can you tell me if you have already been cashed?

I would say that the situation was probably a bit different for the international stream. I'm assuming that FSW3-09 was probably either filled up completely really fast, or increased the number of applications significantly. So far, it looks like that we won't even meet the cap for the PhD stream this year. Or would that actually be all the more reason to reduce the cap to 500?

Oh, I think we will get pretty close to 1000. Least week alone they had 70  more application. About the 500 hundreds, if you look at the MI, you see that in previous versions, they had a 20 thousands overall cap, then they reduced to 10 thousands. And even though each profession can have a cap of up to 1000, the opted to limit it even further to 500 in the MI-3. See the tendency?  However, this is just me making useless speculation! Cheesy

And WOW. I just realized that it has been 4 months since MASSOUD applied. Our stream is certainly getting speed, but it was very slow in the beginning .

Hi, anybody who has got PER so far, did you include your secondary education documents (middle school and high school diplomas and transcripts) in the application package?

Thank you.

Good question! I included all of them(primary, secondary, post-secondary), since I assumed that you have to prove the amount of years that you studied, I thought it would be better to show that I have the amount of years I was claiming.

I didn't. I didn't even include my undergrad diploma but only transcripts (my transcripts showed my status as "graduate").
