@  snow_walker, Do you think it's too early to inquire about our applications?

I guess we may contact with them. See this link,
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/sydney.asp

You can request for case information and will receive a reply cause we satisfy the requirements stated there (applied more than six weeks ago). I have sent them a request by email about my spouse's change of status and waiting for the reply.

I did a research in the forum about the PER and how long it takes to CIC to send them. It is usually about 2 or 3 weeks after the applications is cashed.

The easy time in getting the medicals are related to how well presented is your case. If you police certificates are attached for example, and your work experience is strongly proved, I believe they will request them as soon as they can. I've seen people receive everything, MR and PR fee together 3 weeks after get PER, about 2 or 3 months after submission.

@  AST : Did you check the new NOCs? I heard that CIC has changed the NOCs recently !

I did not change the NOC code, but in the CIC website, its given that they will consider both the 2006 and 2011 NOC codes and will select the one which is more suitable for the applicant.

My friend is like us (PhD stream) and he sent his documents in November. Two weeks ago he sent an email to buffalo and they gave him a file number and also they answered him back: this is related to CIO that you didn't receive PER, you can ask them. So far he hasn't received any response from CIO.

Let me see if I understood what you said: Your friend got a file number. But they haven't said anything about PER so far, even after inquiring them? Can you confirm?

My friend got a file number from buffalo (when he asked them). You understood correctly, No PER from CIO and No response to his inquiry so far (Maybe it takes time).

Good. I think thing should move faster soon. They must be finishing the new Overseas Proceedings before starting to evaluate everyone for real. Its been almost 4 months(3.5 now) since the publication of the MI-4. Its a lot of time already.

Is it possible to ask him to share his timeline with us. Cause that will be helpful to all of us.

I see a lot of discussions have happened on the forum in the last 2-3 days Smiley. Anyway my status is now updated to 'In process' too. A long wait for PER now starts.

I have a feeling that our case will be processed in CPP-Ottawa.... Look at this post,

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/cppottawa-only-post-your-timeline-here-faster-processing-t87166.0.html;msg1120491#msg1120491

This PNP-PhD case is being processed in CPP-O... just my thought..

That would be sweet and fast. I have the suspicion that some people here are going to get it very soon.
