Hello there,

When my wife received her AOR from Bogota, it states to not contact them before 10 months since they received the documents. They received them on december 3rd 2010. So, does that mean that after 10 months, the MP can tell them to actually speed up and put some kind of priority? 3 more months to go without being able to know anything...

it's so hard today.........

The AOR is supposed to give you some idea of the average processing time for the application.  It's not a hard and fast thing, but basically it reduces the amount of contact they have with people wanting to know what is happening with their application.

It is hard to sit and wait for months on end without hearing anything.  In the case of the office in Kingston, that I am going through, the official timeline from CIC is 17 months now, and even where people have received AOR's stating 6 months (last year) processing time, MPs have been refusing to get involved if the case is not past the 17 months official timeline.

If you've ordered the CAIPS notes, and nothing has been helpful, you're going to have to assume that processing is continuing as normal and keep waiting.  I know it's hard, but look at it this way - you are 7 months in, the worst of the wait is over, the 3 months left will go by just like the 7 months did.

No one can do anything to make the process faster, it will be done when its time for your case to be done. On my wife's AOR it mentioned 9 months(back in March 2010), it has been 15+ months and still no VISA the timeline on CIC website has increased to 23 months now for my VISA office in the last 15 months so I know exactly how you feel. Hang in there...

Hang in there, amigo.  In time, this will just be another phase you guys went through, and a story to tell the grandkids.  In their day everything will be done electronically in a matter of days and weeks, and you will shake your head and say 'In my day, we did it the hard way' and your grandkids will roll their eyes and wonder what granddad is on about, how can things have taken so long to get done, it's just not possible! You'll call them young whippersnappers, and everyone will laugh.  This too shall pass.  Smiley

It is our price that we have to pay for our everlasting happiness, is worthed every second, every instant, I only think in the love that my wife and me have, and I am all for, wait is the price, is painful, but I dream in the hapiness and future together with my wife, HANG IN THERE, YOU CAN DO IT, SOON WILL BE PART OF THE PAST.

I feel you! I have sponsored my husband from Ecuador and have been waiting since May 2010.... it is sooo hard , specially when you feel it is not in your hands to speed things up. But hang in there , I also can't wait to have him here , but just remember you're not the only one who's waiting impatiently for so long!!
