AOR Question

Hello all,

I am sponsoring my wife from Colombia. I have been approved as a sponsor at the end of november, the 30th to be exact. We haven't received any AOR letter yet. We were wondering if the day we receive the AOR letter, the date written on that document is when the 10 months start (the bogota visa office say to not contact them before 10 months have passed) or is it when Bogota actually receives the case before sending the AOR?

For example: bogota receives my package on december 10th and they send me the AOR on April 2nd. Will the 10 months start on december 10th or on April 2nd?

It usually start after the AOR is received by the applicant. For example: My wife's file was received on Jan 1st (written on AOR) and on e-Cas it showed "we started your application on Jan 17th" (this is when they create the file in their system).

this is f*cking stupid! It means that they take 6 months to deliver an AOR, and yet have to wait more than 10 months...looks like they aren't respecting their 15 months engagement...

What does your ecas show when you check the online status? Use your client ID or immigration file number to find out what it says. That would give you a better idea...
