AOR -- question

Hi,

My file was transfered from Buffalo to NEW York. I received an AOR from Buffalo- now that it has been transfered should I been expecting for one from NEW york as well. New York has been sending us photos and other evidence back...so they are working on it for sure.

I just noticed that a lot of people had a passport request like 1-2 months after getting an AOR.

No, you won't get an AOR from NY.

Some people might get a passport request a couple months after receiving their AOR - others go months and months without hearing anything.  Each case is processed individually - each application is unique.  The processing timelines are averages - you can fall anywhere within 4-9 months through Buffalo (this includes NY, Detroit, Seattle, LA) depending on the circumstances of your own application.  Comparing your case to others, or expecting to finalize as quickly (or as slowly) as someone else has is nothing but a recipe for frustration.  It's not a race - all you can do is wait to hear from them and hope for the best.
