Since QC has an extra step and once they approve me as a sponsor, I have to send the letter of approval from CIC with my QC application. Since I provided an email address will they only email me their approval? Or do they also mail the letter?

Do you think QC (MICC) will accept a print out of the email if we dont receive the letter?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks and Happy Friday!

The Ministère will absolutely accept the sponsorship approval message issued by CPCM in whatever format, so don't worry that it's an email, that is the common way for CIC to do things and you should compile the rest of the application for the CSQ once your sponsor gets the email. Don't wait for a snail mail version (I'm almost positive that Mississauga would not waste the time to send it out both ways).

You shouldn't have to forward anything yourself. When my husband received his sponsorship approval from CIC we were informed in writing (hard copy, we've never gotten an email about any of this even though we too supplied an email address) and on e-cas that his sponsorship application was being forwarded to MICC in Quebec by CIC. I was instructed at the same time to go ahead and fill out my Certificat de selection du Quebec (CSQ) application and forward it to MICC. We received approval almost immediately by MICC (they were scary efficient), and within the week they'd informed CIC who then immediately forwarded my application to Buffalo.

Have you looked at your file on e-cas yet? If a decision has already been made click on where it says Decision Made under the sponsorship column. It should tell you the date on which your file was transfered to MICC (among other things).

Yep  Smiley Really, including the fed's letter is the easiest part of the dealings with MICC.
Thank you ddobro2!

They do inform MICC seperately but the sponsorship approval is still part of the checklist of items to include in the application for CSQ (http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/fr/parrainage/liste-verification.pdf):

une copie de la lettre ou du courriel reçu de Citoyenneté et Immigration Canada confirmant que votre
demande de parrainage est recevable
Attention : Il s'agit de la lettre ou du courriel destiné au garant et non à la personne parrainée. N'oubliez
pas de joindre cette preuve, sinon votre demande vous sera retournée.

So when my girlfriend gets her sponsorship approval (hopefully soon!) that same approval letter or email is the letter we have to send to MICC along with application and payment?
Thanks

Yeppers. Make sure you have accounted for each one of the items on the checklist for the CSQ application: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/fr/parrainage/liste-verification.pdf

Oh shoot you're right. I had forgotten that we included a copy with my application. I suppose I was thinking mostly though of whether or not he had to forward a separate copy of the federal sponsorship approval to MICC, not in terms of what was included in the CSQ app. Thanks for making sure the right info was shared. Thank you for this. My application was only received on Sept 12, so I dont expect approval until late November sadly  Sad but I just wanted to clear my doubts so I know what to expect.

Has your application been approved?

Unfortunately I'm still waiting on Buffalo to ask for my passport. Based on the Buffalo thread it seems that they've been clearing out their backlog and have processed pretty much everyone who applied between November 2010 and February 2011. My application reached them at the end of March 2011, so I'm hoping that means it's only a question of days or weeks and not months at this point. Of course, there are always exceptions (like I've seen people who applied to Buffalo after me and apparently have already had their passports requested), but my fingers are crossed.

Hi, I have a follow up question for you all applying for Quebec. I'm living overseas with my wife in Australia, and we're just about ready to send off our application to Mississauga.

Should we include the MICC forms with our application? Will they forward these forms to MICC? Or should we hold on to those MICC documents until we get Sponsor Approval and mail them to MICC ourselves with the 'CIC approval' letter?

Finally, do we need to include proof of relationship for the MICC part? There is nothing in their checklist which asks for any proof of relationship.

keep the MICC form yourself and mail it off once u get approval as u will need it for your CSQ, Quebec checks to make sure your are eligible to sponsor so no u do not have to send proof to them just send what is required to get your CSQ, the majority of your checks are cpc-m and your outland VO, Quebec will be doing the same as CPC-M to check your eligibility to move there
