Usually AEO is valid for a period of 4 years from the date of issue. You can apply anytime in this duration before the opinion expires. However it is best advised to either attach the AEO to an existing application or send a new one immediately upon receipt of the HRSDC/Service Canada confirmation (AEO).

Hello Everyone,

I got my AEO approved in November 2010. I would be applying in July 2011, though I have two year full time work experience on a work placement when I was a student, I am not calculating this points thinking it was a sort of internship, hence waiting for the present one year work expereince to complete inorder to avoid any visa hastles. In the meantime have spoken to my employer, he is ready to accomodate me as he is expanding his business.

Will I have any problem?

Hi,

Our AEO is valid for 2 years and I know also an applicant who has got a validationtime for his AEO for only 1 year.
But, it's mentioned at you AEO approval.
Our timeline is:

AEO application send to HRSDC/SC: end of april 2010.
AEO approval: December 8th 2010.( waited 30 weeks)
Visa application with copy AEO send to CIO: December 28th 2010.
CC encashed: Januari 2011.
Untill now: no word from CIO or CIC....

Kind regards,
Louise!

 @ nicholas30:
It COULD be 6-7 months, yes.
And even then it will get not any faster, because CIO is taking forever to review your file! Lips sealed

 @ mahad:
I don't know the answer, but my guess is that when your validationtime is up your application will not be approved without AEO if you're approval is depending on an AEO....
Maybe you could try to make a phonecall to CIO or send them a fax, to ask what your processingtime will be because of the validation of your AEO?
Goor luck!

Kind regards,
Louise!
