Anyone had to get a GA and NY state clearance?

My husband got a letter last week which told us that the initial assessment of our application has been processed and we do not need to go for an intervew, also medical has been received. However they did request a 2nd state clearance from GA and NY. Originally, he wasn't asked for a fingerprint for his GA clearance but he did have to get it for NY clearance. GA clearance was done at a local sheriff's office but we are not what we did wrong. Anyone can help?
