Hi there,

I am from Hong Kong, and my Canadian bf and I are applying for common-law sponsorship. It is a painful process filling in all the forms and gathering all the proofs. My stress level has not been  that high since birth, it would be nice to know someone from HK who has been through all these and who would like to offer me some help during the process. Someone who knows every single step of the application, processing and everything else. My bf does help me a lot but since he is not from Hong Kong, there are things that he is not so sure about.

Thanks a lot!

Are you both currently in Canada or Hong Kong and where do intend to send the application?

According to the sticky post (the top post of this webpage) by Leon, you have an option to send it to Missisauga (outland) or Vegreville (inland).  Read that post for more details.

I sponsored my spouse through Missisauga (outland).  She had a her medical done in a clinic in Central, Hong Kong.

Can you specific which forms you don't know how to complete?

I found the whole process is challenging, I guess it is because English is not my native language.
5669E form is quite challenging, e.g. I have to list where have I lived the since I was 18! I have lived in several countries and I do not remember all the addresses Sad (my bf has the same problem)
Also, I am confused when I filled in the 1249E form about extending my status as vistor and getting an open work permit.... I am going to extend for 18 months while waiting for the reply from CIC, then i a, hoping to get an open work permit, but then in the form, it asks me what i expect to do as a worker??
