Hi, just wanted to see if anybody else was waiting for their PR card since landing.  It has now been over 6 weeks......is there an escalation process or do I just sit and wait?

I'm at 3 weeks as of yesterday...still waiting. They told me when I landed if the PR card didn't arrive within 4 weeks to call the CIC.

Hi,
Did you change your address when landed.
Otherwise normally any one should get within 4 weeks but have seen the postings saying that some times it may be delayed. You can enquire thru call center.

I landed July 27th, still waiting :/ Also still trying to reach CIC to make sure it's not been lost in the mail xD

Apparently they started issuing a new version of the PR card and that caused a big backlog of PR cards to make and that's why everyone who landed in July or later is having to wait a long time.

Well, I got ahold of a call agent at CIC, he checked and informed me my card has not yet been produced, he said he didn't know why - which to me sounded like it should've been by now. He said he filled out a form and sent it to the office concerned and it will now be up to 30 days for me to get my PR card. Hmpf.
But at least I now know it hasn't gotten lost in the mail Smiley

Dear mitamata,
I am currently in Australia, Actually after entering Canada I stayed there for one week and came back here. Do you know is it possible to give a call to CIC call center regarding this issue from Australia? In case it is not possible I will ask my friend whose address I used for sending the PR card to make the call. Could you please tell me, upon calling do they ask for any identification (date of birth/immigration file number... etc) to do the follow up?
Thanks and best regards.

Yes, when calling they ask all sorts of things to make sure you are the person you say you are. I think they can ask for anything that's on the COPR - I was asked for the name, birthdate, address, phone number and client ID. They won't give anyone any information until they verify their identity. Though I guess if somebody steals your COPR, then they have everything they need to impersonate you. Scary really.

Hi,

My girlfriend had her permanent residence interview on Aug 19.  They told us it would take 30 days to get her PR card at that time.  We booked a non-refundable trip for October 10, thinking that having 51 days to get her card would make us safe.

We have not received it yet and we are getting nervous that we will have to forfeit our trip.  This is ridiculous.

We phoned CIC yesterday and they said, no it is not sent yet, but it takes 6 weeks, call back in 2 days (that will be exactly 6 weeks).  Will they do anything to speed it up after 6 weeks?  Even if they send it in 2 days, I fear it won't get here in time with the mail being so slow.  Has this happened to anyone else?  I know we can get a travel document while we are in Cuba, but I understand this is expensive and takes weeks (we are only there 1 week).

Any advice on what to do?

Thanks.
