Eversince I moved out of Toronto in 1999 to live in the US with my husband, I couldn't wait til the day I could move back.  And finally here I am filling out the PR for my husband now, a decade later.  We now have 2 kids and another due in 2 wks.  I miss my family and friends, the multiculturalism, the feel of living in a big city, the FOOD, amongst many things!  I can't wait to start a life there with my family.  Anybody else living outside of TO trying to sponsor their spouse there?  Just wondering.

Hmm, well, not exactly your situation. I was living in Moscow, Russia with my wife but had to move back to BC in order to sponsor her. When I was in Moscow I missed home like mad, but I can tell you in hindsight that it was the wrong decision. It took 10 months of separation for her to get her visa, and it has been one of the most difficult, rockiest and crappy years in my life. In hers, too.

I'm surprised we stuck together in that time with only email and skype to keep us going. In fact, we're only 2 weeks away from being reunited for good, and I'm still trying to repair damage from a 3-day argument.

Anyways, the point is that if I could do it all over again, I would have found a way to stay there and sponsor her. I know you miss home, and I know what you mean (I'm originally from Guelph) about T.O.

Just keep positive and you'll be there with your family in tow eventually! It's much better than being there without them.

I hope everything works out for you and your significant other!  That is hard to be apart for that long.  I miss my home but you're right, at least I have my kids and spouse here.  Best wishes to you!

Hey I'm from Guelph too! Wow small world Smiley
I'm currently in Lebanon with my spouse. I've been away from home for one year now and miss it more than everything. Can't wait to go back.

I don't think I've been in Guelph but i remember when i was younger and thinking of being a veterinarian...I heard the University of Guelph was a good place for that.  Hope you get to go home soon with your family!
