I have a tough time getting Reference letters. However, I can show proof's of employment. Did anyone get through succesfully without them?

I may be able to show 1yrs reference letter with the desired duties. And, do we need to show all of the duties mentioned in NOC or some of them are sufficient?

Any sample explanation letters for not providing reference letters would be greatly appreciated.

Hey buddy....

Don't even think about doing this....
No way they are gonna accept your application without reference of the company.
Try to get a reference letter anyhow from the company which you are working now and all previous companies.

OK if you absolutely can not get it. I would suggest you do this -->

1. Get it in writing/response to an email from HR that they can not issue reference letter. Get proof of service if possible. (say you need it for buying house or something).
2. Take one of your co-workers along to a notary and get an affidavit about your job duties, dates etc.
3. find all your pay stubs/tax papers/offer letter
4. Take a printout of your org chart as proof that person signing is your co-worker.
5. Talk to your manager and ask if he can take a call if consulate calls him to verify your employment. If he agrees give his contact details
4. Write an explanation letter saying that it is against company's policy to issue such letters and this is what I have, you can also submit an affidavit.

You don't have much to loose, other than time and processing fee in case they dont return it. Just my 2 cents. I did some of the above since my company does not give reference letters but my manager agreed to give same on plain paper

well said by sk.

betn if you have performed duties mentioned under NOC 0213, in your any previous job then that company should not have any issues.
Tell them truth ( you need it for your Canada PR processing). I did it same way and my previous company issued me the letter with a line on bottom ie. THIS CERTIFICATE IS ISSUED FOR THE CANADA VISA PURPOSE ONLY.

About your current job.. sk mentioned right way to handle this.

Also try to match atleast 80% of duties as mentioned in NOC 0213, this will make your case good

good luck

hi all
i couldnt understand about the reference letter. i have job experience letter along with duties / salar/period of services. all are mentioned in company's letter head, at the bottom signed by manager. i think it should work as a reference letter because my company's letter head contains all contact details..phone no. email etc. do you think they need diff kind of reference letter? can you write some explanation, what reference letter contains?

But, don't you need the Job responsibility detailed in the letter, against which the NOC descriptions should match?
Is the experience letter that descriptive?

Thanks for your suggestions. I finally managed to get a letter from HR for employment verification only. They didn't mention about job duties. I will have to do some affidavit like mentioned for Job duties.

Also, will the Canada visa office officials call my HR? The problem is they are least bothered to do any extra work like answering these kind of calls. And they don't like me applying for this immigration. I am working with the same company for 7yrs so this is the only company and current employer from where I can arrange this letter.

Hi,

I have a question too about NOC duties ..
my que is : Is it better to write the exact same wordings of NOC duties as we have in the CIC website. I do perform all those duties so company should not have a problem.

Or should i have them write a paragraph for each responsibility with the required keywords.

I have currently specified all the NOC duties as Points (1,2...) with each point not more than two lines..... is that ok?

Well, I am not even sure if my company will give me a reference letter .. but i am going to try ...

Please let me know what works the best

thanks,

I was asked not to use exact words from the NOC description. I wouldn't even write paragraphs as I guess the letter is usually one page.

Dear Guys,

I have written many times in this forum that CHC does not accept anything other than Original Reference Letter of the Company on Company's Letter Head.
We have to get this anyhow no matter what it takes.
If we cannot get this then our application hangs on the discretion of the Visa Officer.
Its his choice as to accept the application or to reject it.
I know its hard to get a reference letter but its not impossible.
Come on guys we cannot even fight for something which we are doing truthfully ?
Why the heck are we scared to get what is ours and which is legal.
No Company can deny Reference Letter.............
Please speak to your Manager Politely and make him understand and many Managers do understand the fact that they have also jumped jobs Cheesy and they are not the only people who want to have a good future Smiley but we also do Smiley
So please motivate your self and explain them properly and make them understand.
Hope this gives motivation to everyone Smiley

Guys!
Even though i have the reference letter in original from the current employer, i just have the scanned one from the previous employer.

I am planning to get it notarized. Will that be Ok? Anyone has a similar scenario?
