It came by post and i only checked my postal box yesterday. It would have been sitting there at least 1 week by my calculations based on the date of the letter.

asks me to resubmit 4 passport photos each. In my case this is the 3rd time i am submitting photos.

The form also asks how i would like the passport returned ie registered post , courier , express mail , in person. With the 2nd and 3rd option i would need to fork out for it.

Fair enough and many thanks Sisifo.
By the way did they mention the size/specification of the photo or it would be the one we sent along the full docs to CHC?
You can choose the platinum express post (unless you choose in person) to option of passport getting back.
Good luck for your visa. Lets us know when you get your maple leaf

I wish the service was that super fast (same day!!) as after waiting for so long one might wish not to spare even a minute to get the stamping at any cost... but I am afraid every CHC have a fixed day of a week for the passport delivery and although they advise it will take 3-4 wks but I can remember one friend got the passport in following week collected from the London CHC in person. I am not sure if anybody in this thread have shared so far to have collected PP from Sydney CHC in person.....probably someone else will be able to respond more specific on this

This is so true. Visa stamping duration is also affected by the new rule (FSW29). Whereas before, the FSW38 receive their PP back in 3-4 weeks, it has bloated now to 6 months. At least that's the case for Manila VO.

My letter stated that it takes anywhere between 5 to 10 days to "process" and i assume that the process referred to here is the actual printing and affixing of the visa labels. Somewhere else it mentioned that if you were collecting it in person they would call you when it is ready. Both these put together seemed to indicate that it wouldn't be ready on the day itself and depends on the mood of the VO on how quickly it is done.

The journey to a Canadian PR begins with a very very long wait

Official statement of 5-10 days is very nominal wait in compare to some other mentioned to have waited more than 6 months for some other CHC... I think for Sydney the last step wouldn't disappoint us keep waiting that long...
If you don't reside in Sydney then probably its a good idea to use Platinum express post which is safe, track-able (you can take notes of the track number from the return envelope/sachet)... By the way can you please share your time line just for us waiting to match the trend line!!!!
All the best mate... your PPR initiated some new hope for us... probably the next PPR is due for our friend Dascelado.....
