Dear All,

I would be grateful If someone can reply me please.I am waiting here in Bangladesh for the issuance of my Canadian permanent resident visa by this month.Professionally I am a physiotherapist. My query is, how long it takes to get PRC after landing in Canada. If I get my PRC,shall I get any advantage if I want to excess USA for short travel.(example-attending professional training, sitting for professional exam). Are there any obligation for the new Canadian immigrants to participate those facilities in the USA?

What I know, from Bangladesh If I want to visit USA for attending professional exam,I need to take TOEFL, arrange PPC and the list goes on.If I am in Canada, still would I go that sort of hassle or I would get any exemption from TOEFL,PPC to travel to the USA for being a permanent resident in Canada?

Thanks,

Sumon

There is no difference, if you have a Bangladeshi passport you require a visa to go to US. Having a PR card dosent make any difference. If you required a visa to enter US before getting a PR then you need to get a visa for US after you get your PR. Its status quo

Thanks brother.

Is it easy to get USA travel visa (or any kind of short stay visa)for someone who is a permanent residence holding PRC?
I am saying this because from Bangladesh it is not easy to get USA visa.

Unfortunately it will probably still be just as difficult for you to obtain a US visit visa. In other words, at the beginning, having Canadian PR status won't make a difference. Once you have been a Canadian PR for 1-2 years, it should become easier to obtain a visit visa to the US.
