Canpr,

I just wanted to make sure from your earlier post, Do we need to get PCC from all states you lived in? (Specifically in the US)  I just got one PCC certificate/letter from FBI.

and where can I find the format for employment letter that is asked by CIC?

Thanks,
M

For the US, you should get from every state you lived in longer than 6 months as well as the FBI PCC if you lived in the US for longer than 6 months.

Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

Rupeshhari,

Thank you for your input. Is there any link, where I can find whom to contact in each state? In my case there are going to be two states. I have already obtained FBI letter/certificate.

And do you by any chance know, how long does it take to get the PCC?

Thanks,
M

time line is probably state dependent.

This website says that state certificate MAY be requested. Somewhere on this forum I read that state certificates are needed nowadays.

Here is the link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

Knight, with current trend, it takes about 2 months to 3 months. Also there is a rumor that it takes less time for people paying through Cashier's Check or Money Order and more time for people paying through Credit Card. So, the rumor is it takes about 2 months and 10 days for people paying through non-negotiable instruments (checks / MO) and upto 12 weeks for people paying through Credit Card. With that information, I would assume it should take us between Jan 15 to Feb 15 of 2010. Hope this helps.

Thank you.
