anybody get ppr yet from.amman Jordan this waiting game is killing me.. I'm about to send my wife's visit visa application but do I need her passport with it the hard copy or can she email my the pages and I can print it out???

yes around 5 members got ppr since amman started working maybe more; see in the table; i think for now just send copies of the passport pages; if they accept then she'll have to send the passport to have the visa stamped

Hello everybody,

I am sponsoring my wife who is from Syria. I sent my files about 1 year ago but I have a question: My wife was in Homs and due to the civil war she left and went to Libya. What do I have to do?? Should I call the embassy to tell them? who do I have to call or e-mail or fax?? i dont know....

thank you guys

good luck i hope EVERYONE get their ppr soon inshallah in ramadan i will pray for ALL OF YOU.

hi yahya nice to see u around again; i thought u were done Wink anyway glad to see ur wife is out f there; i think u should update the embassy of this change since it's important; also if she changed her mailing address, phone number definately u need to send them an email to let them know the new ones; otherwise even if they try to contact her they cannot; good luck!! oh yeah i remember hearing about that. i was in syria with my husband at the time trying to get his documents ready! when i heard i never went to the canadian embassy while it was still opened i thought this was only for those who had already applied! after the embassy closed, i was told if i had went with my husband they would have given me the visa on the same day! i still regret not going soooo bad but then again you do have a point , I should try to figure something out maybe theres such a thing still. have you tried speaking to your MP since you are in the same situation?

yeah they had an evacuation program in place just before the embassy was closed

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2011/ob371.asp

it refered to canadian citizens in syria and yes they were giving visit visas easily to their family members; i know ppl in Syria in process back then who went to the embassy got their pr visa very fast (maybe in a few days, one week); one friend from this forum had her hubby living in Homs (and it was very bad then too) and he managed to get the pr visa because of this program

definately try the visit visa route asap and try to explain the situation as honest and direct as u can (in this situation, even if u say it's visit and temporary they know it's not); don't get discouraged - yes most r refused but they r not living in so bad conditions either; they have to consider it; but even with visit visa he would have to find a way to leave to jordan - by road (i heard it's closed) Shocked or plane

another thing i heard: in some situations if the temporary resident visa is refused ppl can apply for temporary resident permit (usually they give this permit to small children who r sponsored and cannot b separated from their families during this process); usually u need to put in evidence humanitarian grounds which considering the situation there now u probably have them; do ask ur lawyer, it has to be a way
i've been watching news from there all day  Cry Cry Cry it's very very scary
hope God will keep ur husband and everybody's families safe!!
good luck!!

hey everyone
we have small updates too Smiley
we sent email to Amman VO a few weeks ago and got a reply which i'll post it here (it took them around 2 weeks to reply):

Dear Sir,

This is in response your inquiry regarding your Spouse sponsorship application # Fxxxxxxxxx

Your spouse's application has been forwarded to our office for processing. Due to the closure of the visa office in Damascus and the time it took to set up a permanent resident visa application in Amman, the processing times for Family Class applications is taking longer than the processing standards.

Currently, we are processing cases submitted in March and April 2011. Your spouse's application was received on Jan 31, 2012.  We will contact you once we are ready to finalize the case.

Thank you

so yeah it's a general email but at least now i know for sure our application is there; just a note this is the first email we sent; we had to send some updates and with that of course we ask a time estimate anything just to get a reply Wink also the email was sent from the applicant side (i don't think they answer inquiries made by the sponsor; so make sure u email them as the applicant from the applicant email)

so yeah it looks that what the others said that they work on appl received on jan-feb-mar 2011 is confirmed in this email also; so for those waiting since then or before start packing Wink ur moment of glory is very close WinkWink

also i don't want to give high hopes to anyone but from the way the officer wrote us they consider the day when we applied not when the file is transfered (we applied in jan 2012 but the file was transfered at the end of april); so hope the so long time during stage 1 is not lost and would b considered somehow

have a nice day!!
