i think that is the only solution ive got is to apply for a visitor visa! reading canada girl's post ive sort of lost hope! shes been in the same situation for 15 months and she received no help, what makes me think i will and ive been waiting less than one month ( stage 2) Allah y7meehom what else can i say

I have a friend that used to work the the VO in Syria, but left a year and a half ago ( still had contact tho ).  He told my me about the Syrian VO closing before they officially announced it on the website, and through the CiC.  At the same time he told me about the program they had implemented to get as many applications done as possible before shutting down.  This program was aimed for applicants living or residing in Syria at the time of the revolution, and PR's were being granted as early as 1 week.  I followed up on this with the Syrian VO and was told it was true.  The same kind of program was done back during the beginning of the Iraq war, where Iraqi applicants would get priority over others to attempt to get them out faster.

The reason I'm telling you this is perhaps they have a program in place to get people how are in danger out faster. I would contact your MP and ask if such a program exists, explain that your husband is in danger, I'm sure your MP can not ignore that.

oh yeah i remember hearing about that. i was in syria with my husband at the time trying to get his documents ready! when i heard i never went to the canadian embassy while it was still opened i thought this was only for those who had already applied! after the embassy closed, i was told if i had went with my husband they would have given me the visa on the same day! i still regret not going soooo bad but then again you do have a point , I should try to figure something out maybe theres such a thing still. have you tried speaking to your MP since you are in the same situation?

Well my wife is a a small town in Iraq, I was told by my lawyer and the CiC that the Iraqi program is no longer in affect as the situation there isn't as bad as it used to be.  And that I have to go through the process as normal.  I have yet to contact my MP, I left a message maybe I'll try calling him again today.
As far as Syria goes .. well I don't know what programs are going on there if any, but I'll ask around.

This is unrelated to the main topic of this forum, but where can I spice up my profile with pictures and appalication info, like some of you have done on here. I have looked and cant seem to find it ?.
I know it's meaningless and a waste of time, but I have a LOT of time. Smiley

i appreciate that you want to ask around. thank you so much. i did call my lawyer yesterday she said i wont get any help. i have to wait for the whole process for stage 2 to finish! she said my only solution is to apply for a visitor visa! unfortunately a few of the members here had already applied and the embassy didnt accept! they want them to wait for their sponsorships.
