Hello,

We are looking for suggestions on how to begin the Canadian immigration process.  A little bit of information about us, my wife is a naturalized Canadian, living in the US on a green card.  I am an US born citizen.  From what I have read, for my wife to sponsor me, she needs to be employed and have enough income to support me.  However, since she lives here in the US, she does not hold employment in Canada.  Will this be a huge factor?  Also, when we apply, should we apply as if I'm out of the country, or in-Canada?  Is there a difference in speed?  Lastly, any additional advice would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks in advance.

There are no income requirements for sponsoring your spouse.  As a Canadian citizen your wife can sponsor you while living in the US.  The outland process is faster than in-land, however, your wife must prove her intention to return to Canada (job-offer, lease etc).
