As a US citizen applying for PR in Canada, can I do my medical exam in Canada when I visit(it's so much cheaper there!) Or can I only do it in the US?

That's exactly what I did, just tell them it's for an outland application.

If you don't mind me asking - exactly how much is it for a Medical Examination in Canada?

It varies.  I paid $120 for the medical exam itself and $40 for the chest X-ray.

Meanwhile in California they are charging about $450 as opposed to around $200 in Canada!

Yes, it is much cheaper in Canada. I did the same thing because the closest DMP to me in the states was about 1000 miles away.
