American Marrying Canadian

Hello, I am an American who has been living in Canada for about 4 years, 3 under a study permit and now i am here on a work permit until 2011.

I have just become engaged and plan on marrying my Cdn fiancee ( my only reason for coming to Canada to begin with).

What are the steps for us to apply for dual citizenship?
should i apply for CDN first since we are living here?

Should we start this process before the wedding? If so how long does that take as we plan to marry in 2011.

You should start the process about 1 month before the wedding.  That is unless you are already living in a common/law relationship, then you could start it now.
