Hello, This is Atif, Im planning for Quebec Skilled worker immigration. I've some questions as follows;

1. I studied my B.S Civil Engineering degree (4 year - Bachelor) outside Quebec (in Pakistan). So, my degree definitely consider as foriegn degree.

If we see the List of preferred areas of training/occupation at Quebec immigration official website,
(reference link = www(dot)immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/en/diverses/summary-table-areas.pdf).
they divided areas of training into two catagories 1st is Foriegn degree and 2nd is Quebec or Equivalent degree. My case fall under 5. Applied Science - Civil, Construction and Transportation Engineering (Bach. - 4 years).

Now, problem is that this area of training does fall under Priority Treatment column for Quebec/Equivalent degree but not for Foriegn Degree. At all the places quebec immi officials use a word of Quebec/Equivalent degree . It isn't possible to make equivalency document/certificate from comparative evaluation for studies done outside Québec (ref link = www(dot)immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/education/comparative-evaluation/index.html) to make my foriegn degree equivalent to Quebec degree to get a place under Priority Treament ?

2. Is B.S Civil Engineering (4 Years - Bachelors)  equivalent to Civil Engineering Technology (DCS - 3 years) ?. Actually Civil Engineering Technology (DCS - 3 years) fall under Priority treament column for foriegn degree.

3. Is it really compulsory or neccessary to hire a lawyer or immi. consultant to put my case for QSW ?

Senior and experianced members are most welcome to comments here...

Thanks n Great Regards

Hello Atif

To be honest, i am MBA and dont know whether i fall under any preffered list or not. But i applied as i got a positive response online. You too take an idea online and apply. your qualification looks good.. i hope you have some work exp as a civil engineer. DO NOT forget learning French.. it is very important for QUEBEC.

its not compuslory to hire a lawyer for filing your case.

I've read all about quebec bachelor degree under university education system and I concluded that my degree (B.S Civil Engineering) is equivalent to Quebec degree. (Ref link = www(dot)immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/en/evaluation/fiche7.pdf)

But it isn't better to evaluate my degree/credentials by quebec immi. office to get equivalency certificate/document to make my degree equivalent to Quebec degree prior to apply QSW immigration ?. I'm asking this, just to avoid any expected delay/objection in future.

What you ppl suggest me ?,

Great prays for all

 @  Atif...

U really dont want to evaluate ur degree for applying for the Quebec Migration...But, After u got the Quebec visa and for getting jobs there it would be fine in making the degree equivalence  to Quebec...

Hope this clarify ur points...am too a Civil Engineer from India.....
