Hi, I am newbie to this forum.

I am a international student currently graduated from Vancouver Film School.

I was looking for these job postings and many of them are looking for B.C residents.

I have been staying here in Vancouver for last 2 years with a study permit and paid MSP for 1 and half years.

I also have my B.C Drivers license but no SIN card yet.

Do I need work experience to be eligible for B.C residents? Is there certain qualification?

Please reply whenever you are free.

Thank you ahead for your time and concern.

To qualify as a BC resident, you must either be a Canadian citizen or a Canadian permanent resident. See:

http://www.health.gov.bc.ca/msp/infoben/eligible.html#who

Based on these requirements, I don't believe you fit the definition of a BC resident since you're here on a study permit.

According to this website: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/wildlife/hunting/resident/old/licences.html#resident

BC Resident means:  person who is not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, but whose only or primary residence is in British Columbia, AND
has been physically present in British Columbia for the greater portion of each of the 12 calendar months immediately preceding the date of making an application under this Act or doing another thing relevant to the operation of this Act.

Therefore, I think you can still try to fit the definition of a BC resident.

Thank you for both answers.

Me and my wife were physically in Vancouver for last 24 months. I hope this will fit in to the qualification.

The best way to find out is, I guess, asking the companies what they really mean by that!!

Cheers!
