alternatives for birth certificate in FSW category...

hi,
    i would like to know being in india 10th class marksheet, passport and pan card are treated as date of birth proofs.. what if i do not possess a birth certificate but i m submitting my marksheet and passport along with a public notary affidavit.. will that be enough as a date of birth proof.. please give ur inputs.. its much needed....

Hi Sorav,

I had the same situation and I put in my Tenth class certificate (notarized) along with an affidavit to explain
the lack of DOB certificate.
This should be good enough

Remaining standard lines will be keyed in by the person making affidavit and notoriziing it.

Please note, even after Affidavit, make sure to attach a cover letter along with your application.

is this format ok.....
        I have also enclosed herewith all the relevant Forms duly filled-in and signed and also all the relevant documents (duly attested) in support of my application and as per your check-list. The Experience Certificate, IELTS Report, Proof of Funds and the Police Clearance Certificate have been enclosed in original.

       Kindly note that I do not have my Municipal Birth Certificate. Hence, I have provided a copy of my SSC Mark-sheet which shows my date of birth being 3rd Nov. 1984. Further, I have also provided the copy of my passport identity pages which shows my date of birth being 3rd November 1984 and the place of birth being Jalandhar, Punjab, India. I have also provided the Affidavit to that effect.

adding on to this i have another query..my mothers name is suchata bhalla on passport and her documents but on my marksheets it is mispelled by one al[habet.. it is sucheta bhalla.. would that be an issue.

I have been in the same situation. I did send them my grade 10th certificate as a proof of date of birth but they asked me again. I am telling u abt Seattle office as every office has different requirments. If your births are not registered, then you have to send an affidavit showing details of your birth and Non Availability Certificate from the minicipality in India where you were born. This is what Seattle office asked me to send if my birth was not registerd. Some visa offices are good with grade 10 certificate. But the important thing is please don't send Certificate of DOB issued my Indian embassy abroad as these are unacceptable...

I sent affidavit from parents, 10th certificate and proof of birth letter from CGI houston. So far I have passed the completeness check. I am waiting for my eligibility review.

that helps mate .. but i have made a affidavit from public notary alongwith that i m sending my 10th marksheet and copy of passport plus my pancard copy...hope this should be sufficient.. rest god knows....please give ur inputs....

wont b a issue.

BTW ....y dont u apply for birth certificate....even if u dint have one or thereis no record in hospital...u can apply for birth certificate by giving affidavit...find out in ur city MunicipalCorporation.

Sorav, you get a non availabilty certificate from the municipal office in 3 days. It is called Form 10. This is acceptable for US Visa. Along with that if you submit your 10th marks card, it should suffice.
