I already have my PR, Im ready to go to work, what next? do I need to get some type of social security number or something before I start looking for work or am I good to go?

Go to a an HRSDC office, you will find the them in the Blue Pages of the phone book and apply for the SIN card.  The application is here: http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/asp/gateway.asp?hr=en/cs/sin/0200/0200_010.shtml&hs=sxn#so1

any idea how long before i get the number? do i walk out of the office with it that day? or at least with proof that im in the process?
Im on my way to fort mcmurray, no address yet, will do the SIN thing when I get there, Im sure they are used to this kind of thing given the work environment there currently.
