We're planning to leave by April next year. We want to let the winter pass since we have kids, the abrupt change may be hard for them to adjust. Second, we want to be prepared as much as possible. We're researching all we can do here in the phils before we leave like professional licensing requirements(my wife and I are engineers), drivers license requirements, resume preparations (Canadian resumes are different from here in the phils), work referrals, etc.. It will be hard if you find out you need a certain document from you country of origin and you're already there in Canada. And of course, we also have to settle some things here at home(sell properties, business and investments, current jobs, etc..).

Once you get your visa/medical request I suggest you attend the seminars like CIIP and COA (they're very informative). CIIP creates a plan for you to follow and connects you to actual contacts in Canada like Community Colleges and Immigrant serving agencies and a lot more. We are already communicating with those contacts through email. CIIP also has one-on-one counselling schedules for the attendees to attend to your specific concerns. Some of the attendees do not yet have a home to stay when they will arrive, CIIP can give out specific contacts in Canada (if available, which are CIIP graduates also) that can help them. The COA seminar gives you booklets and a list of all the websites/information you need to prepare.

Hi all,
can any one tell that those who had applied in 2004 and 2005 will they need to go for a fresh IELST test as we have already send the CIC our  IELTS result but it is now 5 years old

Sent my application package last Nov.2004. Got AOR on March 2005 and my ECas "IN PROCESS" since March 2005 'til now.  Received a letter Nov. 2008 asking if still interested to push through w/my application.  Changed address in Nov. 2008.  Received a call from Canadian Embassy-Manila last Sept 2010 updating the address, tel. nos. and e-mail address.  Told me that they begun processing my papers, also, told me to wait for the next instruction thru mail/e-mail.  Any applicant received a call from the Embassy and what did they ask you?  Any idea what's the next instruction from them? 

Anyone with the same case, please reply.  Thank you and God bless us all.

yeah, i got response from CHC London, as i got my file number on November 2004. CHC london asked me to send them original IELTS result along with up dated police certificate. I mentined to the office that i have sent my original IELTS resulut at the time of submission of my application.

God willing if we receive our visas by Jan 2011, even we intend to land there by April 2011 for the same reason like yours. so we will certainly meet up and help eachother... Where do u intend to land and stay

Hi! I applied in October 2004. I took another IELTS in 2009 because the first IELTS resuts already expired. Got PPR in December 2010. Hope this helps.

Currently guys/gals who applied in 2009 are getting medicals. Maybe I hope 2004 applicants might start getting medicals in the coming days. Hope for the best.
But we backloggers are the most unfortunate. Is it a blessing in disguise or not? Over to your my dear friends

According to my immigration lawyer, when updates are being asked, proof of language fluency is included. So he advised me to take IELTS again. Just take the IELTS when updates of docus are asked of you.

    Did you submit your IELTS results before or is this the first time your taking up your IELTS test?
    I'm asking you this to clarify whether applicants who had submitted their IELTS report in 2007 should
    also take up their test again now to prove their language fluency.
