Dear all,

For all of our PNP applicants after Dec 1 2011, we need to follow new application protocol as specified by CIC. I am opening this new thread to help us gain information and knowledge to walk through our application process all the way to PRP. I hope the experienced folks can help us answer questions and new applicants feel free to post any concerns and progress. Here I have some questions.
1)   For the college degree not earned in Canada and US, should we need to have third party to certify/evaluate ? Per CIC check list, no such requirements. It seems to me that copies of degree or diploma are ok, unless they request the original later if they want to. But some posts in the forum elsewhere mentioned that we need to submit the certified diplomas by your national degree evaluation committee. Please advise me.
2)   Previous Buffalo office  required to submit the original PNP nomination letter. Now this requirement has changed to copy of nomination letter. Please comment this change.
3)   New procedure allows paying by credit card for the application fees. Any thoughts about the pros and cons of credit card method, instead of money order?
Please share your opinions.

Hi bkd1969

Although this new requirement doesn't apply to me (as my PNP application was approved before Dec 1, 2011), I would suggest if you're ever in doubt whether you should submit an original document, get a copy notarized and submit that.  That way it is as good as the original and they shouldn't have an issue.

As for the credit card system, I used it when I was applying and it was fine.   Did you have any specific concerns?

Hi aussiemama,

Congrat! Do you mean that your pnp certificate was approved and issued or that your application for PR under the PNP category has been approved ( i.e you've been issued you PR card?).
If so could you kindly share the timelines? When did you submit, how long did it takeand any other details would be helpful.

I am curious to know if there will be changes to the timeline now that the application has to be sent first to CIO for initial processing.

Thanks

Thank you for this thread. However, I am a bit confused, I believe that the new checklist issued Dec 2, posted in the PNP website is for those who have been nominated already.  I believe original documents for the TOR/diplomas are really required in the PPR application even before this new checklist was issued.  Correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you and Goodluck to all of us.

I would go by the checklist..

1) When I submitted my application I did not submit a copy of my degree at all. Is it in the checklist to give one? I dont know which PNP category you might be under but i think you are nominated already knowing about your educational background.

2) Even before I provided a copy of the nomination letter.

3) Some find it convenient to ay it through credit card some dont. If it was me, I would do a money order as its the safer route. Once you get a money order done, its a done deal and you are ensured that you have paid the fees. With credit card there is a chance it might be declined for whatever reason, and that could possibly result in they sending your application back!

I spent a lot of time and money to prepare the transcrits, translations, work experience reference, etc. Then all of sudden, on Jan 18, CIO posted new check list. All these requirements are removed. So I wasted my time and money. But it is okay. New check list for PNP is much simpler than the old one. You need to follow the new chek list. This is a rule you need to abide by. Do not do something based on what you think or believe. Do whatever they ask you to do.

Hi Revival,

Sorry for the delayed response.

I've now posted my timeline in my profile but we applied for PNP in May 2011, received nomination in September 2011.  Documents were submitted to the Federal Govt in Oct 2011.  By late Jan 2012, we received confirmation from CIC that they had our application, and for us to go do medicals.  (There was a delay in my timeline due to Christmas).

Medicals were completed on Feb 2 2012 and received by CIC by Feb 20 when they started processing our PR application.

We expect to have full PR granted within 2 mths!

Hope this helps!

Dear All Professor on the forum,

Many thanks.

I was not awarded any points for the adaptability assessment factor because one of my signatories of the Manitoba Affidavit of Support is concurrently supporting multiple applications and as result, my application for nomination by the Province of Manitoba was not approved.

Please Sir, What do you think I can do from this point?

I don't know much about Manitoba pnp but are there no other places that you can earn points from? In Saskatchewan proof of funds are one of the ways u can earn point. No dull yourself.

I am a little concerned!

My application was received by Buffalo on 30 Nov 2011. But on 17 jan I received an email from the registry section requesting to justify gaps in  my timeline.
I did the needful and responded via email.
Now I received my AOR via email on 7 March and  Medical via snail mail on 14 March.

The catch is Ecas says that my application was received on 17 jan and not 30 Nov. I am concerned that the changes to the checklist were not accounted for in my application package. Can that result in rejection of my application?

My checklist matches the one that was available online as of 29 Nov 2011.

Thank you for your help in advance.
