Thanks Shac....... a lot...... but one more thing ; it is clearly said in the background information form whether it is for the principal applicant or for the spouse .... and there is a check box for that..... but there is no such things in the additional family information form..... and thats made me confused.

hii goal!
it seems you are applying under 4131 catagory. me too. i am a college teacher and i have submitted full docs on may31 . 2010 but i havent gut any AOR yet. could you please comment on this backlog? for an applicant under 4131 NOC, is the SIGAPORE  VISA OFFICE require higher score?
could you please tell about your IELTS score? in fact , i am requesting you to know our level of confidence.
now a days we see some bangladeshi  applicant getting refusal letter on the ground of  moderate IELTS score   even they got 69 points.

Hi imu :

Yes,you are  right , I am under NOC 4131 and am a college  teacher as well.In my c-ase AOR reached within two weeks' time. But as long as you find your status changed  in e-cas , never mind about the AOR ,for it's not worth having that in your file. In fact , as I know ,there shouldn't be any kind of discrimination regarding point system whatever NOC it might be. You pointed out a very alarming thing ,seems like IO in VO  are desperately trying to find out faults among the Applicants.

I got 14 outta 16  in English Language scoring a moderate performance in listening  part (7). My points totalled to 72 .

Thanks imu,good luck,

Hi jnathan :

I am totally convinced what you have predicted about the probable 2nd letter from VO. I scored 14 out of  16  in English Language criteria scoring a moderate performance only in listening  part (achieved 7 ). My points totalled to 72 .No boss , I couldn't  claim  any point from anyone who is on social aid in Canada.

By the way ,when did you sent full docs to VO ? Let us continue sharing our status on a regular basis.

Thanks & Good luck

Canada Faster Immigration Review: Part 1

Background of the June 26,2010 Decision: Government of Canada will welcome more economic immigrants in 2010, Part 1

You probably read about the new development in the Federal skilled worker category, and you are wondering if Canada is putting a limit on the number of visas for skilled worker, how come CIC is talking about "Welcoming More Economic Immigrants in 2010" !

Economic immigrants are prospect immigrants applying under the following categories:

   1. Skilled Workers
   2. Business Immigrants/ Business Start Ups
   3. Canada Bonds Investors Permanent Residence Visa
   4. Provincial Nominees
   5. Caregivers

CIC said it will put a cap on the first one from the "intake" side, which is the new applications. So, according to this, only 20k new intake applications will be considered and the rest of the number will be taken from the current backlog in the skilled worker category estimated to be 500k, which is a big number.

CIC with the new reforms which started in 2008, had done a great job in reducing the backlog from 900k to 500k, but the amount of applications  received has far exceeded CIC capacity to process the new applications, that is why the policy had to be adjusted as the Minister explained and put a limit on the number of new applications of the FSW category.

Looking at the statistics for the last ten years, Federal Skilled worker category applications processed every year was on average 50k, so starting June 26, 2010, each year 20k new application will be processed and the rest of the 50k will be taken from the backlog in order to maintain the number of new immigrants to Canada, which is budgeted to be around 250k-260k every year.

The press release adds that only the Federal skilled worker will be effected by these changes, which means other immigration options, such as the Canadian Experience Class for intentional students and applicants with job offers, self employed applicants, investors (although on hold till Dept. 2010)  will still be available as usual,
