Dear Dr. Hasib,

Can you please reply if you see the email. I want to know what is this get together is about. I myself applied for Cananda Immigration in May 2011. Received a letter from the CIO and after that from singapore........my online application status still showing received by canadian visa office.

I would like to join any group of Bangladeshi immigrants from which I would be informed about updates of canadian immigration.

BG checks are done throughout the RbVO process.
I am not misguiding. senior members shared this in many other threads.

send them fast as you might not get the PPR if the quota of 2011 get finished. until you get your PPR, there is nothing much to be ecstatic about. still the MR is a much waited progression for you.

Is it only wife, kids ? How come... " All family members" means parents, siblings too. These data will be kept to them for future reference for the applicant. If any member of applicant's family wants to migrate, then he/she can claim point proving relationship. Or in future any of them can apply under family class visa. Why it will be only wife/husband and kids ?

Yes, its ambiguous when the BG done by VO. All are guesses. I dont want to burgain on the issue. I have taken GCMS for my own and have seen others GCMS where in most BG checkpoints were mentioned as "Not Started" and the explanation was also there that at RBVO stage, they cant give full details of the file. What does it mean? Again, BG check is done in random basis.

Assigning of case officer is the last stage of RBVO stage. B4 such no BG takes place. Anyway, I may be wrong. But this is my understanding of usual situation.

It should not depend on marital status. He/she has to write down parents & siblings.

The below is a personal email from one of my friends. She has a query which I would like to share as I am far away from this step and I have no idea at all:


"Hi Deba,,,sorry-I told u i will write in a day or two....but no time. I will just write one or 2 questions now...that u maybe can answer, and more in the following days. As I have told u-me and my son are going on the 29 january, and my husband is coming in april. I am the PA. Now-about the B4 form-accompanying goods and goods to follow. I will complete accompanying goods form (take photos of the jewellery)...nothing more..just clothes...and some paintings (4-5 wall pictures) and 4-5 big papiruses (bought in Egypt several years ago) along with some wall ornaments (like masks). Should i take photos of them? Should I count every piece of cloth? (unusual) I am not clear about goods to follow!!! My husband is supposed to bring just clothes with him. Do I have to fill up a form just for clothes? (or not to fill any accompanying goods)? What do u think? It seems funny!!!! I have another question....but ...tomorrow. I hope u are fine. Any news from the Visa office?

I stumbled on a question while filling up "General Application Form IMM008". In the dependent part it asks to list "ALL" my family members. I am single, does this mean I must include my parents and siblings? They are not planning to migrate to Canada or anything. The system wont let me print the form unless I fill this section.
If anyone could answer it would be great!

My understanding is that:
You must include your wife and children, if any
Others like parents and siblings must be include in the form "Additional Family Information", not in the "Generic application form i.e IMM008".

Please rectify if I am wrong.

yes... you are absolutely correct.. SHE wrote that she is single... so it is clear that, in generic form she should write N/A in columns of spouse and children.... But She must state all the family members' name(parents and siblings) in the additional family information form.... Isn't it ?

Hello Nayara,
If you are single then while completing "GENERIC APPLICATION FORM" just select "single"at question number 13 and leave other box empty (no need to put N/A). SInce you are single you have no dependents. REMEMBER: YOU CANT USE  PEN TO FILL THIS FORM, THIS FORM MUST BE COMPLETED ON COMPUTER. AFTER VALIDATING PRINT IT & SIGN ON IT.
