As a silent reader of the forum, I have seen how this site work  smoothly and in a frienly mood for long within a gentle framework.we have just passesd its 300 pages hallmark with glory and its pride except someone's incivic wounds and woe's.One must remeber that this a public forum and "Respecting a different opinion" is the global standard. Yes, as a nation with the glorious past  with pride,we did it and continously, we are within the standard to held it flag and image high. Hopefully this platform for all bangladeshi applicants will wipeout the wicked and  roguish and its allies who try to add a bad name of  this forum as disrepute. wishes for you and I wish the forum a long standing!

if I dont have any account in standard chartered bank  can I do  the bank draft from  standard chartered   bank

You can. I did it day before yesterday. Had no account with SCB. But they took the counter payment and endorsed the passport. It was easy.

Bangladesh passport  office cut the edges of  old passport  when u surrender the  old one  and  but they returns it to u.without submitting old passport  no  one  gets  new  1,but  good thing is  that they return the  old  one but destroy the  corners of  the passport  with machine  

I have received a new MRP just a few days ago. They neither took my old passport nor cut the edges. I just showed the passport while applying for MRP and again took it at the time of collecting MRP. Then i went for cross referencing and they did it within 5 minutes. My spouse is also applying for MRP. Then I will send the notarized copy of our passports.

Note:
1. My old passport will expire in 2014 but most of the pages are already used as I am a frequent traveler.
2. I do not have any known person in passport office

What reasons should I mention in the cover letter for changing old passport to MRP?

What is the courier address i need to use to send Demand Draft, PCC and other related docs?

One more thing, the letter said they want BANK DRAFT. But SCB issued me a DEMAND DRAFT (i think). It has a address of Royal Bank of Canada. I asked them about it and they said it is as good as BD and most applicants are taking similar type of BD/DD for Canadian immigration fees; in fact its more secured. I am not sure - it does not say anywhere that its BD or DD. But in reference number, it says DD-XXX. Will that be alright?

Well, they used something called "BRANCH CLIENT SUSPENSE ACCOUNT" to complete the draft. I think if SGVO return it to you, you can en-cash it back at SCB counter.

No Problem, If you don't have any account with SCB and SVO will return your DD. In this scenario, SCB will issue a BDT equivalent (Date of Return's exchange rate) Payment Order(After deducting the PO issue charge) in favor of your name. And you can submit it to your BRAC or any other bank's account to en-cash it.

Hi Aakash,

BD or DD is same thing. Don't worry. Their account will be automatically credited by this transaction. Once I was in confusion whether they had deposited my CAD 490, but I talked with bank and they ensured me of the transaction.

Dear Forum Members,
I joined the forum (as far as i remember) in May 2010. since then i am a regular leecher of the forum. There were only 40 pages alltogether in this forum. the forum was healthy, informative and helpful for those who needed information and who applied by themselves. it was all good......but suddenly everything got changed dramatically since there are few people bugging things up between them. and i am dare to say that it is Jnathan (even before we found him weirdo), Dr. Hasib, Simanto, Munnabd etc. Seems like this has become a fighting place rather than noah's boat. Dr. Hasib, Simanto, Munnabd could let it go at the first place rather than making comments against someone special. we used to ignore him whenever we didnt like his comments. pls make this forum helthy and make it like the way so that future members would feel proud about it.

agreed ,  some forum members answer the query not exact answer also ! sorry to say , stop all this!  nothing to be worry , Bangladesh is a part of this world , and human being lives here , so if janathan , say something then all is a part of us , so stop negative activity and bring the healthy atmosphere.
