Hey everybody,

I have a few questions regarding proof of funds. I remembered about this now that everyone is talking about fund and net worth problems. Please read following and see if you can help.

I put all my money in a single current account which i opened about 2 months before sending application to CIO. Now, problem is what do I do when SGVO asks for 12 months statement. My account has been open for less than 12 months. Is this a problem?

Secondly, I had the money transferred at once into my current account and haven't made any deposits or withdrawals for past 5 months in this account. My question is, whether SGVO wants to see fluctuations (deposits, withdrawals) in balance. Does anyone have any experience or idea as to what I should do and what exactly is the purpose of 12 months bank statement. What would they like to see?

Finally, is the source of fund a factor for consideration ? The money was deposited at once into my current account by another party. This amount isn't a loan or anything like that. Do you think I have to explain why this party deposited money and do I have to prove that this is not a debt/loan but is my money? If you think I have to prove it, then in that case do you think I should send out any proof I have along with bank statement before they ask for proof or do I wait and try my luck and first find out if they care.

Please help.

munnabd

Munna bhai, sgvo clearly mentioned in my letter that they want to see bank statement of all the bank accounts i hold. Statements must show deposit & credit transactions.. So i guess u can show your other account statements that are active. If your net worth statement shows that your cash equivalent assset is more than minimum required POF then u dont need to provide a proactive justification. As u just applied in feb'11 i would advise u to do FDRs of the POF amount to be on safe side. Later you can provide them bank stmts and FDR stmts when they ask..

Thank you guys for the clarifications! Very useful imformation u just shared and i'm sure many of our forum members will be benefited from the answers.

@  Teaspoon: i didn't show property as POF. i only gave balance certificate from my current account. I found that the global form and the form that SGVO sent me is slightly different. they have mentioedn in bold letter that " i do not need to send any property deed or valuation to them" what a relief!

i also prefer not to declare my land and other assets. i will show slightly more than the required minimum POF as my net worth. i have FD, current balance and saving deposits. wil give bank statements. is bank solvency certificate mandatory or only bank statement will serve the purpose?

@  hman28 so i will show that my net worth is equivalent to my funds to accompany in the form. Hope there will be no issues. right?

thanks a bunch for all of your help!

Dear Sam Dhaka

Yes.. I hope there will be no issue..  I have shown total asset is more than the LICO amount, but I have shown that  little more than the LICO I will accompany and rest will be transferred later to Canada.

Regarding property, I have not shown in the PNWS, as SGVO is also mentioned not to provide it in my letter and put a * under item 3 (Property) of the PNWS form. Where * means- Current property evaluations must be provided at interview. To make it simple I have skipped the property evaluation through a ISO certified company.

hman28,

what is PNWS and whats your NOC Title?
how much did you show as PoF? I think it was a huge amount.
Your Visa should have been issued last year, it has been delayed for too long.

Your Visa should have been issued last year, it has been delayed for too long.

PNWS means Personal Net Worth Statement, It is form supplied by CHC. Where you can summarized your assets and debts.

My NOC is 0213

My PoF is not a huge amount.

Due to my newborn baby my family status has changed and my MR has expired last month, I just have received re-medical request and waiting for the next step.

NGE,

hman was the passenger of the boat who's passengers have been living in Canada for an year now.
like imu's case, his got delayed for the newborn baby.

if he didnt get his MR last year, he wouldnt get his MR now and would be sitting idle like all of pre June 2010 applicants. At a small scale, They have started clearing backlog for CHC Londoners and Buffalo but not for Singapore.

As far i can understand that , statement and solvency certificate is two diff things at the same time they explain the same thing as a document.

solvency certificate is prepared according to the bank statement. By the way when you prepared the solvency certificate , it is better that you mentioned the deposited amount in CAD$ and mentioned the conversion rate in bracket. This is a good practice !

suppose your bank provide you the solvency certificate , and you dont have the minimum required fund , it is not acceptable.

I was assigned as a United nations Peacekeeper in Congo. How can I get a police clearance certificate from there? I stayed there for a year in 2005! It seems impossible!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP please!

if you follow the following link , you will find the following info !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/africa/congo-democrat-repub.asp

How to obtain a police certificate
Democratic Republic of Congo

Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
Yes.

How and where do I obtain one?
Police certificates are available at the Judiciaire Commissaire.

just thought for your reference!

contact the local embassy in dhaka if there is one and convince them to get one!
if the police clearance is finger print base then i have seen wb page , and they are providing this service and they will cost you more !

google the local police authority phone number try to contact

or get a clearance from your employer if they provide so and keep all the evidence that you are trying

if all seems impossible , and ask some other immigration consultant who has office in congo

hope this will help you !

Thanks for the reply Teaspoon. can i just provide bank statement and exclude solvency certificate? coz in the letter they asked for bank stmts only..and in the vo guide they mentioned balance certificate or bank stmt or time deposit stmt

you are absolutely right , you need to submit bank statement , which will show the bank transaction ( why the cic wants to see it , because it shows your earning and spending nature and from they can identify your credit power , and it shows the exact current amount deposited for settle in canada this is why it is called as a settlement fund as well.

solvency certificate is not a mandatory document and it is not required. But if you just mentioned the exact amount in CAD$ , i believe it will support firmly current balance and equivalent CAD. so the vo does not require to find the value of the BDT. you have the deposited balance in the account  and the bank is abide to provide you one. But if it seems difficult then omit it !  do not forget to provide +1  Grin
